Alabama has this monster at the top of their 2020 RB board:

I wouldn't call landing a national Top 10 player "settling."

Bama is in good shape with several elite back in the 2020 class. I'm sure we'll be in the thick of it for Evans. Alabama has been RBU the last decade. Every starting RB we've had has been drafted and most in the 1st and 2nd round. Elite backs would be foolish not to consider Bama.

Isn’t it odd your best one in the NFL left for UT?

Bama has great RB’s no doubt....but any RB headed to GA, Bama or LSU will be set up nicely for the NFL. I look forward to many recruiting battles in the future with these 3 teams at this position

He showed flashes last year. We’ll see how his development goes this season. LSU has a lot of talent at safety.

Delpit, Monroe (RS), Harris and Stevens are all sophomores. The question is who will play alongside Greedy at corner. Overall, this should be LSU’s best defense since 2011.

Kamara has been to more Pro Bowls than Mark Ingram?

Let’s be honest... Alvin Kamara took his job and Mark Ingram will be looking for work elsewhere when his contract is up. Alvin Kamara fits that offense perfectly. He was built for it.

He’s up there with Le’Veon Bell, David Johnson, Lesean McCoy, Todd Gurley and Zeke Elliot.

He will explode this year.

Without Ingram, Kamara isn't as effective.

Well he's certainly got an opportunity to show he can handle the load all by himself over the first 4 games. I'd venture to say he is more effective Weeks 5 through 17 though.

Which part? Do you follow the NFL?

Although eligible to participate, the suspended running back is skipping voluntary OTAs. He's unhappy with his contract situation. He's heading into the final year of his deal. Ingram's ban and Alvin Kamara's emergence have made a summer extension extremely unlikely for the eighth-year pro.
Good chance Mark Ingram isn’t playing for NO next year.

Kamara doesn't have his ROTY season without Ingram. I've been impressed with Ingram the last season or two. Guy has really come on and has become an asset for the Saints.

Think he is OSU's top target as well. Obviously USC/UCLA and all the west will want him.

Bama/OSU have gone across the country to get backs annually, so they know how to do it and have the "quals" to show any back how they can succeed in college and the NFL

This is certainly possible but really only because of the money Ingram could be looking for. Payton likes Ingram’s ability in our offense and he’s pretty underrated as a pass catcher. He and Kamara balence well.

Just my opinion, but Ingram can be fairly easily replaced, Kamara there's not many out there like him. If Ingram wants a good bit of money, no way the saints pay him. He's also turning 29 this season which is starting to get into red flag territory for RBs and long term deals.

Agree. Not settling. There are some really good backs in the 2020 class. Evans is absolutely sick.

Yep I agree. I think Payton would like to keep him, but we have a lot of young guys who are going to want big money. Ingram is more replaceable than say a Michael Thomas. He maybe looking elsewhere depending on price.

I would like LSUs chances more if they weren’t signing 2-3 running backs this year. Not saying he would shy away from competition but it takes away a lot of the shine of early playing time.
