How so? Should he have gone to Miss State? I mean, after all, it's not like A&M has any recent history of putting offensive lineman in the NFL or specifically tackles.
Miss. State has a rich track record of... Gabe Jackson...the only NFL lineman from State that is currently in the NFL.

Long way to go,I'm sure A&M will re-enter the picture at some point

Greg wants to start at Tackle as a freshman... He can start at RT at Bama and then slide over to LT when C Rob jumps... Or he can come to OM and start at LT from day one.
aTm has Gennesy and Ifedi and neither of those guys are projected to enter the draft after this season... Not saying he's afraid of competition but that doesn't help the Aggies chances.

At Bama, he'd also have to unseat a guy who was the #1 Juco tackle who RS last year and starting this year.

and the #1 JUCO tackle from 2016 in Baldwin who is firmly committed to the Tide as well.

A guy as talented as this kid should start day one in college football. No point in a talent like his sitting on the sidelines. Good luck to the kid!

Ifedi is almost certainly gone after this year, and is very much a potential first round draft choice.
quote:
Germain Ifedi, OT, RJr. (6-5, 325, 5.34)
After redshirting in 2012, Ifedi became a starter in 2013 at right guard before moving to right tackle as a sophomore last year. He flirted with possibly leaving early for the 2015 NFL Draft after receiving a second round grade from the advisory committee, but decided to return to College Station in 2015. Ifedi is thickly built and is tough to move from his spot, using stout angles to wall off run lanes and beat up defenders. He has vines for arms and uses his reach to create separation between him and rushers, but he does tend to get grabby with his wild, heavy hands. Ifedi is practicing at both left and right tackle and has the potential to extend the Aggies' streak of first round offensive linemen to four straight years.

Edit: But we're still not getting Allen.

LSU is losing both starting OTs after this year as well.

I can guarantee you our number 2 tackles on the depth chart are a lot worse then yours

So you're telling me I should like OM's chances?

I'm not saying they are or aren't, but we're selling him the best possible recruiting pitch for early playing time by telling him both guys starting this year will be gone when you get here, so both LT and RT will be up for grabs.

Dom Jackson didn't redshirt, he played.
Making him a 2015 Senior.

Except for the fact that Dom Jackson didn't redshirt. He's a senior this year.

Yet another Bama Ole Miss bidding war

He is supposed to visit Auburn as well. Of course I don't how that would work out because we already have a commitment from Calvin Ashley who is the number one offensive tackle in the 2017 class

Ifedi will likely be gone. He's going to have a 1st or 2nd round grade.
Gennesy will be a SR.
It has more to do with handlers than starting right away.

Back yo my point both of our LT and RT our gone too. Which makes the back up skill valuable in this situation

But my point is it doesnt in recruiting. All they care about is the ability to compete from day 1. If the starters are gone, they compete. Either team can blow smoke how about good or bad the backups are, but the fact is you cant lie about losing the starter or not. That's really what matters.
I mean do you really think our recruiting pitch is "well, we lose both our starting OTs like Ole Miss will, but our backups are better so your chances are less to start here as a freshman than they would be there..."
