these rankings just aren't adding up.

Florida is currently:
14 on On3
39 on 247

I think the standard is whoever ranks your team the best has the best rankings system.

well, if both sites had them within a few spots of one another, it probably wouldn't be questioned.

take LSU for example

247 - 15
On3 - 9

Pretty big disparity but one thing people need to keep in mind is that these things are entirely subjective and as you've seen in the past - alot of these depend entirely on the camps you attend.

The standard was 247 as the most accurate. Now it's tough to tell between 247 and On3. I'd probably lean more 247 at this point and On3 going into next year.

But like PBF said, a lot depends on where you camp and to add to that, if you're committed or not. They need drama to sell subscriptions and players seem to drop after they commit somewhere.

Some of the player rankings are way off

LSU recently got a commit from Darron Reed out of Georgia

The 24/7 composite has him as the 228th player nationally

On3 has dude ranked as the 29th overall player nationally

That's a huge difference

Clearly On3 (atleast until these change!) I respect them going out on a limb with some of their rankings, ESPN & Rivals seem to come to a consensus during sophomore year and basically leave their evaluations as is for the next two years. 247 & On3 are always moving kids around and reevaluating

Rivals has once again regained it mantle as the best in the business as 247 has gone to shite.

Rankings are very subjective and mean nothing until you see how they actually contribute in college. Then you get to see how 'accurate' they were. Usually, the accuracy is hit and miss.

I thought there was something about ON3's formula that made it a little less reliable until a class was wrapped up.

But really, recruiting rankings are little more than licking your finger and holding it in the air.

Personally I don't like the 247 or On3 format. I highly prefer the Rivals website...

I think the biggest problem with 247 rankings is simply that it weighs disproportionally in favor of teams with more commits.

For example, Arkansas is at #6 with 20 commits. Georgia is at #7 with 12 commits, but has more 5 and 4 star recruits. Georgia is all but guaranteed to have a better class. I don't think it matter much right now that they only have 12 commits. IMO, average rating should matter more.

That being said, I don't really know how the other services rate teams.

In the end it plays out fine though as they only rank the highest 20 prospects for each team.

We Florida fans so on3 obviously. Searcy is a top 50 guy not position top 50 overall.

Nixon also is a good bit more highly fated there

Cant life but losing Rashada sucks. Still I'm not sure we're dead with him. If he sees AR15 running wild and throwing great balls. The atmosphere etc. He may say i wanna be a gator.

I know racial but if white dude doesn't live up and AR15 kills it. Never now

If one site gives better ratings to certain teams. Comming from a 10th grade drop out who couldn't resist 16/hr at 17. Massive regrets now tho

Then why even mention his skin color. Stop being lazy and just look up the guy’s actual name.

Seeing as Rivals literally doesn't scout a whole arse state that produces plenty of NFL talent, it is hard to take them seriously.
