One thing I noticed watching Yeldon in the all star game is that he is tall, but he's oddly built. His upper body is extremely long and he has short legs. He cuts like a much shorter running back because he has the lower body of someone who is 5'9", not 6'2".

6'2" 195-205 lbs, and a long neck. DB or WR is in his future, imo

not saying he's in this category, but Adrian Peterson, Eric Dickerson, and others have proven you can have height and still be an effective RB. It is about body lean, hip swivvle, pad level, etc.

TJ stays at RB.

TIFWIW, INGRAM2 had a follow up post. He's been quoted over the last few days, he's been spot on over the last few years about the Mobile area.

quote:

First of all, let's knock out some misconceptions right off the bat.

1. TJ is not an AU fan.. he grew up a BAMA fan.
2. TJ's parents were never "AU'll in" or pushing him to AU. They backed their son in the decision he made and advised him along the way. (Also, his fathers employer had no bearing on TJ's choice.. that is ludicrous.) TJ's dad attended 3 BAMA games this year.(one of which was in Gville)

Now on to his recruitment.. After TJ's 10th grade yr playoff victory over Opelika, Trooper and Luper were waiting on TJ at Daphne high the next day. They have been all over TJ since then and did an excellent job recruiting him. We on the other hand, started out slow. We evaluated him last summer as a safety and this was not what he was wanting to hear. He committed to AU. AU even went as far as working with Daphne on their offense. Even though things looked bleak, our staff saw his potential at RB soon after the start of his Senior year. They never backed off and continued to make him a priority. It's kinda like in sales when someone else has a contract you want, they won't switch to you, so you stay in good standing, keep courting them and hope the other guy pisses them off or drops the ball. Well this is a part of why TJ is going to be at BAMA. AU's inept offense, the exit of Malzahn and the blundered recruitment of TJ led to him flipping to Bama. Luper was TJ's lead recruiter and dropped the ball in his recruitment. In a matter of weeks, Luper managed to blow the lead AU had worked for over two and a half years. He was caught in a lie, when asked if he interviewed for another job(UAB I believe) and made a crucial mistake in some statements he made to TJ and his family. He (without going into too many details) promised TJ something that was at the expense of someone else at AU. TJ's family felt if he would do this to the other kid he was not trustworthy and would do the same to TJ. All of this coupled with the fact that Bama made so much sense led to the flip. The timing was planned as well. It has been decided for some time but he chose to wait until the dead period for obvious reasons.

Other tidbits.. TJ's father stated that some of the players at the AL/MS all-star game mentioned that they wanted to play together and form a (i know it lame and over used but it would be true) "dream team". < > He said supposedly Winston, Taylor and the big defensive end from MS (I'm assuming this is Channing Ward)was going to sign with BAMA with TJ. Taylor met with Saban. Saban told him they wanted him, they would take him, but they aren't going to beg him.. FSU is doing some begging.(should know more on Taylor possibly tomorrow). The ball is in Taylor's court (TJ was at Taylor house today so I imagine he is in his ear for Bama). Two of the Dominos has fallen (Yeldon, Taylor). I believe that Winston comes as well, as for Ward(I assume thats who he was speaking of), that would be a shocker for me but I'm not going to doubt him. When I hear more regarding Taylor, I will update the board.

Auburn's offense still rushed for over 2,400 yards. I doubt us not having a passing threat made him change his mind. Plus, hell, Bama doesn't even had an OC. That couldn't be it, either. The info about Luper must've done it if anything.

Hate it for those guys who worked hard to get the kid and came up short, but they knew they were taking a risk when they started on it. Have to respect the effort though.

I'm guessing it had more to do with the fact that Dyer got like 10-12 carries in most of your big games this year than the total statistics your offense accumulated. Assuming that guy's info is legit.

Maybe, but I would point that finger at the OLINE for that. They didn't block shite this year.

I dk bro, I think it's possible. Saban has pretty much had the same style of offense he whole career. BAMA has pretty much ran this style of offense for a long time. Most people think we'll use the same philosophy we've been using, regardless of who the OC is.

AU has changed it up a lot more. Nobody really knows what kind of offense they'll be running next year.

Thanks for the good read, fellas. I started out on page one with little hope. Then a plot twist and it looks like the hero will prevail. But the antagonist strikes back and the outlook was bleak. But, in true thriller form, good triumphs in the end. Thank you again for a good story.

And I don't think anyone should be shocked. There have been strong rumors for a few weeks now that this had a very good chance of happening.

You might have been spot on about Yeldon, but your lack of punctuation really bothers me.

Otherwise, epic thread.

My brother in law has been best friends with Yeldon's dad since third grade. He was talking to him earlier today and Yeldon's dad told him that they have grown tired of people asking if Yeldon is going to back out of his commitment and it is pretty much a slap in the face to suggest that his son is a liar. They recently started telling these people that he was going to flip to Bama just to frick with them. He said it was especially funny when you tell them that it is supposed to be a secret.

TIFWIW, but this is like the most rock solid source that you will find on the internet.
