coaches in 5 years wont have to do the hard work with these guys to get them to commit cause they will just find people to pay them PLUS the coaches will make more money doing less work. College football is gone...but i wont ever stop watching it. Maybe saban started tDECLINE of the sport but i think the people on tV, just like how the media is destroying our country. same thing

Lol. Saban perfected the art of getting boosters to pay big time players. It’s why Kirby has landed so many great players at UGA so quickly. He knew how to run the business too.

I agree with everything you stated. I will keep watching it but not as much fun anymore. Here is why: When you talk about have 2 great corners like lsu had with stingley and ricks, now when you get these guys you can only expect 1 year out of them instead of 3. It guts the roster when they transfer or just elect to sit out. And for the fans, you can't say "well we have him for 2 more years". He could be gone before the season starts. I hate what I am seeing.

Auburn's been doing this since before Eisenhower was in office.

Georgia was already a perennial top 10 recruiting program. Kirby took it up to top 5 level. That's not an incredible jump that could only be explained by malfeasance.

Unlike what Freeze did, where Ole Miss was recruiting in the 30's and all of a sudden makes a run for #1. That kind of thing turns heads. And look, where there's smoke there was fire!

Give me a break. Kirby didn’t solely start landing top 2 classes at UGA because of his ability to smooth talk a recruit.

Enjoy it while it lasts, bama and UGA fans. Now that the payment schemes are out in the open everyone will be able to get in on the action without fear of NCAA repercussion. 6-7 years from now CFB will have a different landscape.

Being a recruiter was always just being a used car salesman

There wasn't a single allegation in any of the NOA's that Ole Miss paid any player to come there in the 2013 class.

Right right right.... Richt refused to sign an affidavit that Tunsil's girlfriend cussed him out demanding what UGA was going to do to pay them before he flipped to OM.

Freeze would never be paying for players, noooo sir. Whores and grade fixing, yes. But never would Freeze have ever ever engaged in paying them.

Wow that does sound ridiculous when you put it like that.

The grade fixing was on Nutt’s staff. You should probably learn about something before speaking on it.

What payment "schemes?" Do you not
realize NIL deals can't be used to
entice recruits,correct?

Sabans early success has made him not even have to recruit anymore. Once they became the best, it sold itself. Like a revolving door, they get the best players bc they win, they win because they get the best players. Very few teams can even think about competing at the top for recruiting classes for consecutive years like they have

The elite classes didnt begin until Kirby proved he could win big and produce award winners and draft picks. The ability to talk to a recruit is a much bigger part of the puzzle than you are willing to admit though.

Many people hate change due to all the unknowns.

The art of recruiting under the table is no more.

Jimbo is the new, hot artist and A&M is leading the way now. Moan and complain all you want. I don't like NIL but it doesn't mean Aggies won't continue to take full advantage!!

Ride the wave while you can.

Pfffffft OK. Nick Saban is as charming as a box of rocks and suddenly starts pulling #1 classes at bama when they’d been dogshit for essentially two decades.

I’ll give Kirby credit that he seems more normal than Saban, but nah, he carried on what he learned from his master at Alabama.

It was all about coordinating with boosters behind the scenes to set up massive pay for plays schemes. Now, as Jimbo said on Finebaum the other day, "There's always been NIL stuff going on, it just wasn't legal."
