I haven't seen any of Brazley's highlight videos but I'm looking forward to getting Peyton Barber on campus.

I think you could throw in Kevin Spears, since he basically came out of nowhere.

Agree 100%... I think we RS him and he's an all SEC type CB before he leaves

I'm also a big fan of LSU Juco commit Logan Stokes...
A TE I really wanted OM to get in on... Played with Hooks at NEMCC in Booneville.. Great blocker with good hands... Kid is very fundamentally sound as well.

Any Bama recruit that does not have 5 stars is a sleeper.

Kevin Spears - LSU

These highlights are from his first and only year playing football. Kid is a basketball player at heart.

When this guy learns the game he's gonna be great. He has really good handing and, obviously, great leaping ability.

For other SEC teams: Jonathan Cook (CB committed to Bama, 3 star who I think will be a great corner)

Johnathan "Shutdown a MFer" Cook

another fun recruiting fact about Mr. Cook:

quote:

UA commit Johnny Cook was named the Mobile Press-Register Defensive Player of the Year. He finished his big senior season with 81 tackles, 21 pass break ups and 7 interceptions- 2 that were returned for touchdowns- helping Spanish Fort to its second 5A state championship in three years.

No film but my pick is Alex Sezar, easily the lowest rated recruit for A&M and a 2 Star according to most.

Sezar was a 5'10 180lb RB in HS that went to a small HS on the TX/LA border that had nice but unspectacular rushing stats. He didn't do much in the way of camps and so no one knew about him.

Then he showed up at a mini camp A&M put on in East Texas and blew everyone away. He had a sub 4.4 40 and looks like he is carved out of wood. A&M tested him as a CB and he showed incredible hips and fluidity as well. The other thing is he is an early enrollee but was set to be Valedictorian of his class. A&M offered him on the spot and he committed within a couple of days and shut it down, thus no one knew about him. He already is on campus and ran a 4.38 at his first practice. With that combo of speed, agility, and intelligence he is going to be a fun one to watch.

He's also a great example of how recruiting rankings always have to be in context, if he played CB at a big HS in Houston instead of RB at a small HS in East Texas he is likely a 4 Star. He may well be a bust but I wouldn't bet against the kid.

Sezer is who I was going to say as well. At the very least I think he can be big contributor on special teams with the possibility for much more

I'm gonna go ahead and call total bullshite on that one.. Only college player I can think of that compares to TM7 is UF alum Reggie Nelson... and he still wasn't the ball hawk Mathieu was

We've actually done pretty well with Rivals "2-star" recruits lately (the ones who are still on campus):

2013: Alex Sezer - TBD

2012: None

2011: Drew Kaser - Starting Punter

2011: Tyrell Taylor - played each of his first 2 seasons at LB and DE

2010: Jarvis Harrison - returning starter at Offensive Guard

2009: Spencer Nealy - Do I really need to elaborate?

2009 - Ryan Epperson - 3 year starting punter

Here is a pic of Sezar. I love how anyone could say a 17 year old kid that is 5'10, 180, runs a 4.38 and looks like this is a "2 Star".
