Looks like a 5* to me....Oh I see now. You're from Mississippi State. That explains the saltiness.

I honestly don't think he was remotely worried about Najee. I just think there may be better opportunities out there as far as playing time. We are talking about the #2 RB in the country and the #1 RB. What exactly makes people say one is better than the other? Akers is faster. Najee has better balance. They both are quick, strong and have vision. Najee is 220. Akers is 215. Not much difference. I dare say Harris plays weaker competition. I heard that he(Akers) decommitted because we got complacent after he committed. Burton Burns wasn't active as he should have been. When Bo got canned it hurt because that was the main point of contact. Strictly hearsay though. With that being said I would really love to get either.

Actually no, we got our big back. I'm happy there. Just making an observation.

He was in Athens this weekend and his mom had some great things to say about the visit.
Does that mean he's going to Georgia now?

It means no one knows where the hell this kid is going.

This.
I think he's taken the most visits to Columbus (will be his 3rd in July), but that is also the furthest away so he has to schedule them in as opposed to driving 3-4 hours to get to the others (if that).

He's taken 2 in just the last month or so to LSU. Came for spring game and then bayou picnic.

I thought he had only taken 1 there. Recruiting is hard to follow, especially other programs'
He's a great player, but I don't think the programs he is looking at will be "broken" if he goes to one of the others. Some LSU insiders seem pretty confident. A few OSU insiders seem cautiously optimistic as well (full well knowing it is tough to pull a kid from there)

I dont think anyone knows where he actually goes, and i dont think Cam knows either. Wouldn't be surprised if it gets dragged out to NSD.

“I really came out here to personally meet Coach Jim Harbaugh,” Akers said. “He’s definitely an active guy like the stereotype that he has, but there’s definitely a good side to him. He showed he can handle all of this and have fun at the same time.”
quote:
“It was definitely a good one,” Akers said. “He’s relatable and I can talk to him. He is a really family-oriented guy, such as the Michigan staff also. I’ll be trying to take a visit there soon.”

A five-star running back and the No. 1 prospect from the state of Mississippi, Akers considered LSU an afterthought for the early part of his recruitment. That was until Jabbar Juluke took over for Frank Wilson as the team’s running backs coach. “I’m the guy,” a smiling Akers said. “I’m the guy they wanted. They want me to come there bad. Their message was that I’m the guy and they’re going to recruit me hard.” “Coach Miles, Coach Juluke, the staff and the people in general are very family oriented,” Akers explained. “That’s definitely a big factor because I don’t want to go anywhere that’s all business. The family part comes and plays a part, and so does recruiting my real family. They don’t want to go somewhere that’s all business. They want it to feel like a second home. They made my top 10 and I’ll be taking a closer look at them. “They don’t want to go somewhere that’s all business. They want it to feel like a second home. They thought the same thing I thought, and it’s a great school and a great situation also. I can see it.
This is what he had to say about LSU. This kid will stretch it to the limit. In the end I truly don't think he is leaving the state of Mississippi. The only thing that keeps him away from Ole Miss is if they truly crash and burn. I am not sure how interested he is in State.

State didn't even make his top ten.

Not at all, unless he's looking to outdo Leo Lewis and Simmons.

“Mississippi State didn’t make the top 10, but Ole Miss did and I’ll be giving them a visit,” Akers said. “I weigh it pretty good. I just take it a day at a time and a lot of people in my city don’t pressure me to go to State or Ole Miss. They support me 100 percent.”
