Later, Cody was talking about being on track to graduate in May and said he still needed two more classes. Somebody asked him what his degree was in. He paused, stammered for a few seconds, looked up and smiled and then muttered something under his breath.
“I keep forgetting it … consumer science, I think,” Cody said.

Mount fatass.
Reporter: So, I hear you are about to graduate. What is your degree in?
Mountfatass: Ummm... Well, I dunno. That is kinda a tough question. I can't really remember. Guess I do not know the answer to that one.
Reporter: Ummm... Well, ok then.

Then is it the job thing? Do we know for sure that that's a violation?

If Saban holds true to his word then what's wrong?
Here is what happened, for better or worse. Saban told the kid in August he had a scholarship. Saban got a bunch of better recruits, including flipping Yeldon who plays the same position as this kid, and now Saban tells this kid he is the 26th recruit and they don't have room for him in this class. Apparently in an attempt to keep the kid committed to Bama, Saban tells him he will sign a contract with him and get him a job and that he will be able to come in next January.
Is it the worst thing in the world? No, but it certainly isn't the ideal way of doing things and definitely could get Bama in trouble if Saban were to actually sign this contract with the kid and get him a job.

I'm not grasping at anything. I can give you a link to the HBO special if you like.
But back on topic, where do y'all think Saban will help him get a job at? Olive Garden? Chili's? Maybe at a gym? Lawn care service?

It's a violation if a school provides any benefits for a recruit what so ever.
Like I said earlier, look for a retraction on the recruits part

This is the kid who tore his ACL right? You're assuming this has nothing to do with that and instead us just recruiting over him?

Nah. Too much work. Kid would just get fired.
Housesitting FTW.

Six flags, he will be the guy who determines if you are tall enough to ride the roller coasters

The worst that can happen now is Saban is exposed for lying to recruits. Nick "Just stick to the process and it will bring championships" Saban, he didn't lie about the process for sure. He must love having Emmert presiding over the NCAA.

Why couldnt he just redshirt or be the 4th or 5th string then

I have no problem with this at all because of that. It gives him another semester to rehab without burning a redshirt. It also allows Bama to fill his spot in this class as well as have a very good RB in the next class now.

Your team is pathetic, your coaches have been fired or left, Dyer abandoned you, your recruits are decommitting and going elsewhere, you got beat by every good team you played, you got blown up in the Iron Bowl ... and this is all you've got.

Over/under on the number of posts on the bunker and ITAT predicting this is the beginning of the end for Saban and Bama.

AU has players going on national television stating they were paid to play at AU and these tards are worried about Saban helping a recruit get a job. This is high comedy.
bama has been convicted by the NCAA for buying players (see Albert Means), so you need to keep that argument in your pocket.

quote:Except that Saban promised him two things he can't do unless he intends to commit NCAA infractions. If Saban had just said, we went another direction because of your injury and we don't have room, but would love to have you next January, then I wouldn't have a problem with it.

ETA: Actually, I don't have a problem with it as it is, but it is interesting to talk about.
