The Evans are trying to keep where he is going a secret but all of a sudden in the last few days have done everything in the world, short of committing, to hint he is going to Bama. You don't find that odd?

I don't think that they are hinting at anything or keeping anything a secret Rashaan and his Dad are pretty candid IMO and understanding about all schools involved. Just the opinion I get

Even going as far as to say Bama was now getting the last visit after all Alan talking about for awhile was Gus was getting the last visit. If he was so pro-Bama he wouldn't suddenly need a Bama coach to get the last visit to tell everyone he is favoring Bama. Saban wouldn't want it that obvious either.
Would make more sense the Auburn coaches are taking the visit early because they know where he is going and helping him confuse people. And remember he said himself he knew where he was going right after the Auburn OV, if you want to say they are candid, and there hasn't been anything big happen to change anything until they started hinting at Bama a day or 2 ago.

KN AUC247 just posted Rhett Lashlee will be at PaPa Evans bday party. Did not say instead of Gus, but he will be in attendance.
Lashlee is Evans area recruiter.

this makes little to no sense

Yep. I get the feeling he will not be a good guy. Hope I'm wrong.

quote:You have to read Bucc posts and reasons on this and the other Rashaan Evans threads on why he is going to Bama. The point is someone who is trying to keep their decision a secret isn't going to suddenly start acting like the Evans are a few days before NSD and make it look like he is going Bama if he was. Saban would even want it to be a huge surprise on NSD and not have him dropping hints he is going to Bama. He may go to Bama but it seems very odd to suddenly start doing all this with only a few days left after keeping everything quite until now.
this makes little to no sense

What the Evans do and say is all you have to go off of besides the people claiming to be insiders. But we will finally see Wed where he is going.

Gus has Auburn heading in a great direction. Getting RE would be huge, but it's not a class breaker. I have been duped by "insiders" enough to know not to trust them. Just paying attention to what his Dad is saying, closing the announcement to just family, Kirby having the last in-home..........(this is TJ all over again and nobody wanted to see it then, but it was obvious what was going on) Again, I hope I am dead wrong.

quote:1. TJ played Auburn. If a kid who lives in Auburn and has parents that went to Auburn is playing Gus and staff, then Bama can have him (I don't think that's happening, just saying).

2. TJ watched us get the shite kicked out of us in every big game that season while Bama won the championship. Rashaan watched 2 of the greatest CFB finishes of all-time in a magical underdog season.
3. Rashaan hasn't been doing secret visits to Bama and avoiding AU reporters.
4. TJ's recruitment was during a Bama dynasty run. Rashaan watched AU stop the dynasty and take Bama's place as SEC champs.
These aren't very similar besides that fact that they are heated battles.

here is my take. RE is not a lock to anywhere and is genuinely still trying to decide where he wants to go. the dad is trying to take as much pressure off of him as possible so he can make the choice for himself. the dad i believe prefers alabama because of the scheme and track record of sending LBs to the nfl, plus the lack of any established pass rushing threat (our sack leader last year weighs 320 lbs). i will say im encouraged for bama that its media only
