The current 247 Composite Top 15 lines up as follows

1. Jadon Haselwood (5-star, #6 overall) (UGA Commit)
2. Owen Pappoe (5-star, #9 overall) (Auburn Commit)
3. Chris Hinton (5-star, #22 overall) (Michigan Commit)
4. Dominick Blaylock (5-star, #23 overall) (UGA Commit)
5. Wanya Morris (5-star, #24 overall) (Tennessee Commit)
6. Andrew Booth (5-star, #26 overall) (60% CB Clemson, 40% CB Auburn)
7. Travon Walker (5-star, #28 overall) (100% CB to UGA)
8. Harry Miller (4-star, #37 overall) (Ohio St Commit)
9. Kevin Harris (4-star, #90 overall) (Alabama Commit)
10. Trezmen Marshall (4-star, #98 overall) (UGA Commit)
11. Jaylen McCollough (4-star, #110 overall) (Bama, USCe, FSU CB of 20%+)
12. Justin Eboigbe (4-star, #126 overall) (Alabama Commit)
13. King Mwikuta (4-star, #129 overall) (Alabama Commit)
14. Keiondre Jones (4-star, #142 overall) (57% CB to Auburn, 21% CB to Clemson)
15. Jashawn Sheffield (4-star, #151 overall) (79% CB to Auburn, 21% CB to FSU)

So, if everything held, UGA would sign the #1, #4, #7 and #10 players in the state (2 of the top 6, 4 of the top 10). Last year UGA signed the #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #9 and #12 players in the state (5 of the top 6, 6 of the top 10)

Is this just the unpredictability of kids years to year, especially in a diverse state with different regional/national backgrounds for a lot of families?

Nah, it's June. And UGA is being very picky because they have a smaller class this year.

I followed the Pappoe recruiting but didn't see much about Hinton or Morris. Ohio State always seems to identify 1 or 2 Georgia kids and lands them.

UGA is dead to Grayson. Thank you Mr. Watson

Hinton's parents love Michigan and have bought into their academics and what not. We never really pursued Morris as we have several OTs that we have higher on our board.

But as V and S said, we're being more picky with our class and feel we can get higher rated players from out of state this year.

Hinton's family is from up north. Morris is at Grayson where UGA will struggle as long as Kenyatta Watson has the ear of kids there.

Travon Walker is the one must have for UGA still on the board, we seem to be in good shape with him.

One of the downsides of a loaded class that most teams have to deal with not named Bama is the positions are now considered loaded and talented kids don't see a quick path to playing time so we become more selective and kids we would normally love to have are left out of our plans. Wayna Morris any other year would have been a top priority in state but we signed a class last year and with almost our entire line coming back left us in a very picky situation with OL prospects. At QB, no 5 star is going to want to come in behind Fromm/Fields at the moment so we had to find a fit. Running back is probably our most loaded position....we are hoping to land one big guy but odds are its not going to happen.

WR has been pretty weak the last few years...just so happens the state has some amazing talent at WR this year and look at who is headlining our class....WR's and we are on the take for at least one more.

Pappoe will work itself out with Nakobe Dean taking his place (of course I’d do backflips if we managed to land both).

Walker is a must get at this point. Andrew Booth would be nice but unless Kirby can pull another Tyson Campbell (possible) I don’t see it.

I think Kirby proved last summer and Fall that his work is going to be done with results on the field and when kids are sweating out those final decisions. 2019 is going to be Georgia’s big run on the field so as loaded as the state is this year, everyone we grab needs to be in support of cashing in for that 2019 season and establishing some dominance thereafter

Hinton has been a B1G guy from the start. Parents from midwest, see Michigan as superior academic option. Morris gave us some attention but after the last 2 OL classes, seemed he was most interested in going somewhere he could start early... no big surprises there.

Pappoe sucks, but could be offset with a Dean pickup who is probably the better pure linebacker (at least currently), not quite the ceiling as an athlete.

Mostly would put it at cyclical stuff, and yet it's still early... will be more curious to see how it closes out and then what we line up in 2020.

ETA: lol... I should have just scrolled down... Pretty much everyone already covered it.

Dean will be wearing crimson and white. Better get OP.

And to be honest, as good a recruiter as Kirby is—the stars really aligned for that class to happen last year for the dawgs. Absolutely loaded in-state class that happened to be very pro-UGA, coming off an SEC title and playoff run. Plus it was a larger class numbers wise. I think what we’re seeing this class for UGA will be more the norm, and what we saw from the 2017 class. Very solid top 3-5 classes most years. Should keep UGA in the hunt and dangerous every year but Saban and Alabama are still king and will reclaim the recruiting crown this year.

Fify

Do you remember nothing at all about last year? We were ranked in the 50's around this time last year. The truth is, the only thing we know for certain this year is that Alabama has picked up their game for early recruits. Let's wait until signing day before we start saying Kirby can't do it again.

We all do, 95 recruiting avg and already 3 five stars. I could get used to this.

Also got Zamir White, Tyson Campbell, Cade Mays, James Cook, Luke Ford, Channing Tindall, etc. out of state ...

I know we are hurting for DL so we probably are saving spots for more of them as well. But our recruiting in that department hasn't been up to speed with the others yet...

5 star, 5 star, 4/5star , 4/5 star, 4 star, and 4/5star depending on the service. That's a pretty good out of state haul.
