Question for aggies: will weigman play baseball for you guys too?

I know he’s supposed to be legit at both sports so was wondering if he’s just gonna focus on football or if he’s gonna suit up on the diamond to, or if you guys would even want him too. TIA

Definitely gonna suit up on the diamond. There was legit worry that he just going to go into the MLB draft.

Pretty sure that's the primary reason he is enrolling early.

I heard he might not play baseball in year one, opting for spring football instead, but that he intends to play baseball for A&M in the future. But that could be a mistake.

It seems like talented athletes have always been able to pull this off. Given my age, I always think of Bo or Deion or John Elway.
I didn't realize Russell Wilson played in the Yankees system and Tim Tebow had minor league runs as well.
John Rhys Plumlee is doing it right now.
Definitely not unprecedented.

He will play both, just uncertain about this year with the starting QB job up for grabs next Fall.

Yes absolutely will play for Ags at short stop. He will not be our starting QB until 2023 or 2024. So he will see more play initially on the diamond. Great situation for us until he can surpass Haynes King.
