As for rumors of Town dropping Alabama because of Kiffin being named the new OC?

"This had nothing to do with me not wanting to play for Lane Kiffin," Town said. I know everyone is saying that but it’s not true. I never really knew Kiffin that well and the one time we talked when he got the Alabama OC job, we had a good talk. This was more about me feeling USC was the best place for me. It’s the school I grew up rooting for and I feel like this is an incredible opportunity for me.

“I really want to thank Coach Saban for the opportunity he gave me to be a part of what is an incredible program. He’s a great coach but I just feel more comfortable at USC. Location was never an issue but being able to stay close to home is definitely an added bonus for my family to come see me play. I’m really excited right now and I’m looking forward to helping recruit the rest of the 2015 class.”

The same can be said for Town, but some of you are making a big deal out of him switching to USC.

I'm pretty sure BamaChick is, well, a chick.

Learn how to talk to women.

And that isn't white knighting, I don't know Chick, but your mother should have taught you some respect.

No flame to Bama fans but why are y'all so sure he will start and be good? He was a 3* with 2 offers coming out of HS...

We offered him too, late, and obviously FSU offered him.

He was a 3* because of the offense he was running in HS. He has the size, arm, and athletic ability no doubt. He needs polish, but the potential is what has us excited.

I just don't think Saban would accept Coker and allow him to come in if the Bama staff didn't feel like he had a pretty good shot at earning immediate PT

Bama has a history under Saban of JuCos being almost immediate impact if they aren't kids originally recruited and sent through JuCo and if they aren't gonna compete like CB Travell Dixon they transfer

So I am inclined to think if staff takes him he will make an impact

I keep hearing this argument from you Bama fans but dont think it holds any water. Speedy is a 5* WR despite never playin WR before and Malachi is a 5* WR despite playing in a run heavy offense in HS. Not saying Cooker isn't good but to say he wasn't rated higher because of his Offense in HS is ignorant. Did he not camp well?

He didn't camp at all.

quote:

A big reason for Coker flying below the radar was that in his junior year of high school, his team relied on a run-heavy Wing-T offense. "I didn't throw it a lot," Coker said, when asked why he thinks he was only labeled as a three-star guy. "I didn't go to any of those Rivals camps. I guess it was an exposure thing."

Why wouldn't he have gone to camps to showcase his talent especially if he knew his HS O was not built to allow him to shine. At least camp at Bama , no?

He might have camped at the schools he was interested in. I can't remember. In any case not sure why he didn't attend the camps and get more exposure
