I'm not sure Alabama can keep up what they're doing on the DL. They hit on an absurd amount of defensive linemen and went from frustrating to 40+ sacks these last 3 or so years.
It's pretty wild man. The "hit rate" on DL recruits for y'all has been incredible.
Tray Scott seems to finally be hitting his stride here, but we need a solid incoming DL class this year and next to offset some of the losses we'll likely have after 2019 season.

LSU is wasting their time on the Mississippi recruits IMO. It's almost always the in-state schools or Bama for them.

The last high recruit I saw in person and said this about was LSU signee Willie Allen

There's also no senior defensive linemen on the team this year, so as of right now, not slated to lose any defensive linemen.
Of course it is early but it would be pretty reasonable to think Rashard Lawrence and Fehoko might leave, wouldn't it? Both seemed to have very good years and be ready.
Either way, LSU is usually pretty darn good up front.

He is Joseph Evans' teammate at Haynesville (and holy hell at having 2 guys like that on a DL in high school). 6'3 305 and 6'5 271.
Not only that, but Haynesville is in the middle of nowhere and is a small school. They're always a football power in their class, but there is still a limited population to pull from. This isn't like one of the NOLA public schools that can pull kids from all over the city, or a Baton Rouge private school that can take kids from like 8 different parishes.

Honestly neither is really close to 1st/2nd round type status. Lawrence probably gets drafted, pretty late though. Fehoko missed a few games and I'm not sure he would be drafted. Solid players but not really NFL ready. They SHOULD return, but as always we have guys leave who probably shouldn't, will it be them? Who knows.
Ed Alexander was better than both those guys though. He was actually pretty dominant this year at NT. His stats dont look amazing, but he was in the backfield a lot this year and blew up a bunch of plays (Even if he didnt make the tackle). The biggest problem with him is he has had a lingering injury since high school which was operated on and not "fixed" which limits his ability to play much. Generally speaking they are only comfortable giving him maybe 30ish snaps a game with a few games in the 40s and 2 in the 60s. He finished the year with 379 snaps played compared to Lawrence's 649 and Fehoko's 444. Fehoko missed 4 games though to Alexander's just 1 missed game. Logan played 546 snaps on the DL as well (fill in for Fehoko mostly).

Mississippi kids are almost allergic to coming to LSU so you probably have nothing to worry about.

That position rarely has tons of stats, but their presence soaking up blocks and stopping up gaps is invaluable. The NFL recognizes this, though.
For some reason I was thinking Lawrence and Feholko had been dominating. Again...that demonstrates why it is so valuable to get information from the fans of a school.

Lmao defensive line should be a high priority in every class. As it looks now, LSU is going to sign ~5 defensive lineman in 2 years. That’s worrisome

Why are you so worried about it?

Sorry that should be worrisome for LSU fans. I thought It was pretty obvious what I was talking about

You seem to be very worried about LSU in general, lately.

What? It’s a message board. I’m discussing it. I don’t play the game. fricking moron

I'm just not sure why you keep trolling the recruiting board with dumb arse threads about LSU.

How was this a troll post? I’m sorry your vagina is hurt that I posted on the LSURB yesterday, but this is completely legit. Quit being a pussy

Bumping an old thread since signing day passed.
It looks like LSu ended up with 2 DE and 2 DTs in this class. However, if you take away the K & LS then 3 of LSU lowest rated recruits were DL. Only Siaki Ika as a blue chip for the DL.
Do you (LSU folks) still feel good about the DL?

2020 is looking great to start so as long as we close there, should be good for future.
The best news is Fehoko and Lawrence are both back. Sucks to lose Alexander early but it could have been much worse. DL should be a strength next year. We have 12 defensive linemen which is plenty for just 3 spots:
DE
SR. Lawrence
JR. Logan
JR. Farrell
JR. Fonua
SO. Thomas
rFR. Cotton
rFR. Jenkins
FR. Evans
NT
SR. Fehoko
SO. Shelvin
rFR. Livingston
FR. Ika
