Carius Curne, On3's #1 IOL, Commits to LSU
LSU offensive line coach Brad Davis and the Tigers have landed a commitment from Arkansas 4-star Carius Curne.
Curne, On3’s No. 1 interior offensive lineman in the 2025 class, announced his verbal pledge to the Tigers on Thursday, choosing LSU over a final three that included Arkansas and Missouri.
Curne is On3’s No. 25 overall prospect, putting him firmly in 5-star range as the rankings expand to 32 total 5-stars by National Signing Day. He’s the third No. 1 player at his position to commit to LSU for the 2025 cycle, joining No. 1 quarterback Bryce Underwood and No. 1 running back Harlem Berry.
LSU has 12 commits and the No. 2 class in the country as the battle with Ohio State for the No. 1 spot continues.
Curne is the fourth offensive lineman to commit to Davis and LSU this cycle, joining Tyler Miller, Devin Harper and Brett Bordelon. Curne, Miller and Harper are all ranked as Top 100 prospects, regardless of position.
The one-time Arkansas verbal pledge backed off his commitment to the Razorbacks in March, a decision that came just days after he took an unofficial visit to LSU.
After an official visit to LSU in June, Curne said his relationship with Davis helped push the Tigers into the top spot as his college choice.
“It’s about developing me in every aspect of my life,” Curne said of his relationship with Davis. “He’s real honest and tells me this will be hard, but they have the resources and people to develop me as a person, student, and as an athlete.
“He’s built a great relationship with me.”
Marion High head coach Lance Clark opened up on what the Tigers are getting in the 4-star offensive lineman, who is currently just a shade under 6-foot-5 and weighs in at 315 pounds.
“I have been fortunate to coach 16 years with 10 in Alabama and six in Arkansas. I’ve been around high level players in college and go on to NFL. I’ve never seen SEC offers from Georgia, LSU, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Missouri and more and they say we will take you on either side of the line,” Clark told The Bengal Tiger staff. “I’ve seen it in the skill world. But, it’s a testament to him as a player.
“He’s just under 6-foot-5 and 315 pounds and can do front flips and back flips. He goes out (one year ago) and runs 4.81 in the 40-yard dash and 4.3 in the shuttle at Mississippi State. Usually freak athletes are defensive linemen. I forced him against his will – and now he loves it – to be an offensive lineman. It starts there. They don’t make them like Carius.
“Then, he embraced the weight room this past offseason. What makes him special as an offensive lineman, he can match the Top 100 defensive line prospects with measurements, then place the offensive line position with such technique. It shows his capacity to grow and learn. He’s long, even being under 6-foot-5, his length is really like a 6-foot-6 guy. And he can move. When you look at him, he has the college build coming out.”

Great pick up...I was really hoping he would choose MIZZOU. Dude has walloped his competition. This kid is legit. Good job on this one.

What has BK done at Notre Dame and now at LSU? He has won zero championships so far.

Cry some more on another board.
A few things he has done at LSU:
- kicked Mizzou’s best team ever squarely in the arse
-beat Alabama and Nick Saban
-played for an SEC championship with a Heisman Trophy winner

Why do you bring BK into every thread? This has nothing to even do with BK, yet you can’t help yourself.

How often do IOL's get a 5th star?

Pretty sure he's special needs. Not even joking, it's just a pattern at this point.

Looks like at least two have a shot at making it in this class:

ETA: I just realized two of the top four IOL in the country play for the same high school.

Is he a tackle or guard? Seems that may be where the division in rankings may stem from. Maybe he has more tape at OT in HS but will be an inside guy in college?
On3 has him inside and ranked the highest and 247 has him ranked significantly lower and as an OT

But is that a regular thing?

Will Campbell and Zalance Heard played the same position at the same school, and Campbell didn't lose his 5th star until shortly before signing day, if I recall.

On3 gave out a 5-star to an IOL in the following classes:
2022
2021
2019 x 2
2018
2017 x 2
2016
2013
2012
2011
2008 x 2
2007
2006
2004 x 2
Granted, On3 hasn't been around very long so I'd take a lot of them with a grain of salt.

This can be a good thing.

On 3 is the only service that has this guy in the top 100. If you go by the composite, he's a middle 4 star with a 247 composite rank of #109 and an on3 industry rank of 84. You LSU guys have been doing that a lot, finding a single service ranking you like and going with that
