he was showing some flashes of serious potential this spring. I am not sure if he is LSU grade or not but he was a solid kid at Oregon and wish him the best.

That would work. He has a redshirt year left. Both would be solid landing spots.

Freak athlete. Yes, please.

He needs to stop playing around and come play safety for LSU like he should have out of high school.

A&M would make the most sense. We're losing maybe all of our starting WRs after this season, so we could use him.

He can either catch balls at A&M or be a wide split out blocker at some other schools.
NFL pays ball catchers.

No, being a DB makes the most sense.

He'll probably go play RB at A&M. They love to load up on transfer soft speed RBs.

I believe his final two schools were Nike and Adidas.

I remember this kid well. He should have def been a safety. Any idea if A&M is considering that move or if he wants to stick with WR?

Would love to get him to play the slot here

Why are aggies so obsessed with catching balls?

His measurable are off the charts. But it's never translated to on the field production. Even in high school. He was never "the guy" at either school he was at, Newman or Destrehan.
He's the offensive version of "Looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane."
He could be a decent bit player I guess, but I wouldn't set your expectations too high for him.

Do you really want to compare your receivers to LSU's in the NFL? Seriously?

He's a good kid to have on your two deep. No nonsense and keeps his nose clean. However, I think at any school that is good, he's going to struggle to be anything more than a rotation player.
He wasn't going to be starter for Oregon this year and it looked like Dillon Mitchell, a true frosh EE, passed him up this spring. If Nelson stays for his fourth year, I think Merritt didn't have a legit shot to start at slot until he was gone and he had no shot out wide with Mitchell showing up like he did.

Needs to play defense, not good with the ball in his hands.
