That's awesome if true.

Like TideSaint said, we think Bama wants (and will have room) to sign Robinson, Young, Bogle, and To'oto'o, plus one of Pickering, Sopsher, Fuller or Sorrells. If Bama signs those five, I think Williams would have to blueshirt if he wants in and if Bama wants to take him as a 6th DB. But Williams may already be leaning toward LSU, or wind up elsewhere. He said when he committed that he'd take visits and wouldn't sign early.

With Williams, I believe he's going to be a really good college player. I refuse to say that Alabama "cooled" on him because I don't believe it. I basically think that LSU has just done a really good job recruiting him. The writing was on the wall when he didn't sign in December. Can't blame him if he wants to play at LSU

I understand all of that, but that's still only 5 more signees, and the numbers that are being presented here say you can take 6.

22 signees leaves 6 open spots plus Reichard and Tyson.

Your question is confusing the way it's worded. I think it's best if I explain our numbers like this:

We have 25 regular 2019 spots plus 2 unused 2018 spots that can be used by 2 early enrollees. That gets us to 27. If Tyson's family pays his way that gets us to 28, including him. If Reichard also pays his way initially, that gets us to 29, including those two. Any more beyond that would have to be blue or grayshirts.

Bama might be able to blueshirt via a potential loophole (Note link below explains it). And of course, blueshirts must be nonrecruited -- no arranged off-campus meetings, no OV, no NLI. However, I don't expect any blue or grayshirts in this cycle.

Edit: I did some digging and think I figured out what's up with Tyson and Reichard. This Note has been updated to explain it. Also, that Note link is now in both the 1st and 2nd posts of our 2019 Recruiting Megathread.

People need to really just stop worrying about numbers. I gave up on that crap a long time ago. There's too many caveats and stuff.

Yep. It's especially tricky with Bama because they do not publicize exactly what they're up to with some stuff. From their point of view, nobody else but the NCAA is entitled to know.

FIFY.

Although after recent showings, I dont think Bama is going to play that game.

I feel that is pride to help build and add one more spot to the school your Great grandfather built. We are talking about The Bears great grandson. Damn stadium is named after him and half the campus. It’s like Billy Cannons son coming to play for you guys, but even bigger. Bear is Bama

Thanks. I read this and hope Cristobal learned a thing or two about roster management while with Saban.

I’ve been preaching this on the LSU board for weeks but some don’t get it! Your class is still very fluid and things will be changing in the next 3-4 weeks! Good post and thank you for clarifying. Seen it to LSU recruiting board lol

Except Cannon’s boy played at A&M. His Dad was in prison in Louisiana, so there were extenuating circumstances.

If Tyson doesn’t sign he is essentially a preferred walk on, correct? If he transferred would he still have to sit out a year?
