Announced his decision on Instagram

Jermaine Burton's 247 Profile

Burton had 53 catches for 901 yards and 8 touchdowns in his two seasons with the Bulldogs. This decision comes after Georgia's Wide Receiver's coach, Cortez Hankton, left for LSU to coach the same position. There hasn't been much buzz about what school is most likely to land him, but LSU recruited him hard and now his former coach is there, so LSU is an early favorite. I believe Lane Kiffin is in Athens today visiting him, and we desperately need top level receiving talent in Oxford.

Whoever he ends up playing for will gain an instant difference maker for their offense.

Kid single handedly was the only reason UGA beat us in Athens in 2020. Absolute beast.

I hope he's going anywhere but bama but I will not blame him for going to Bama. Really talented received and can shine as a WR1 in the right offense.

It would be cool if we could pick up another playmaker at receiver, but oh well..

From what premium site mods have been saying, we havent even reached out as of now. Includes Hankton there.

To me it seems Burton wants to go somewhere to be featured (and throws the football), and that isnt going to be at LSU so long as Boutte is around. Dont think the coaches want to potentially mess up what is an ultra talented room at WR if you get someone like Burton in and he doesnt get the catches he wants what his reaction to that might be. Looks like for a last WR sot we are looking to add a freshman to develop in Caleb Douglas who has blown up in the last month. they arent pursing any WRs in the portal currently. We need another freshman honestly with how many 2nd year guys we have on the team between Bech, Nabers, Thomas Jr., Hilton, etc...

I think if Jaray Jenkins didnt come back we might look to add another WR from the portal, but with him coming back and Boutte it gives 2 vets in the WR room we like a lot, then a ton of young talent who played a good bit last year in Bech, Nabers, Thomas. Deion Smith is also a maybe on whether he comes back or not as well which would be another boost to that room.

Burton is awesome, but I hope we focus on freshmen if we're pulling another receiver in this class

No one is a lock when Bama is interested. Bama finished second in his high school recruiting and will be heavily involved this time. Looks like Pete Golding is his recruiter and he is one of the best in the country.

Bundt is just being grumpy. He was broken a few years ago and hasn’t been the same.

Burton is from Calabasas, CA. You know him and Lane are going to be getting all chummy about how they miss life in Cali.

He's from Atlanta. He went to high school there for one year.

Guess where Bryce Young is from? He and Burton are both from the Los Angeles area.

Two I believe, but the point stands. He only ended up there because GHSA wouldn't grant him eligibility when he wanted to come back from IMG.

Whoops. I thought it was just his senior year but you’re right.
