2013 guy, Jason Smith got an offer today... along with several others at AUs junior day.

here are some sophomore highlights... the funniest thing about this clip is the coach's audio during one game -- cursing and whatnot...

LINK

there are also some junior highlights out there as well... impressive... probably 6-0/6-1 180ish... good quickness, not blazing speed, but plenty fast enough... i'm guessing he's a WR in college. If we still had Malzahn, I would think the McCalleb role is a possibility... we'll see.

"@mortreport: #Ravens OC Cam Cameron's contract set to expire; no extension on table. Tension with QB Joe Flacco no secret in building."

Blzr -
you can do better than a guy who was not extended at his last hob and fired from the job before that.

AU is an SEC team. A top 15 team historically. 2 yrs removed from a BCS title. You should be able to go get - within reason - who you want from college ranks, not a so-so NFL guy.

I wldnt want Cameron or the Ravens QB cosch if I was an AU fan. I'd love Roman, but he's least likely of the three.

Who do you want?

What are you hearing, Bamasgot13? You know it is always quiet on our end for the most part.

Ricky Parks speaking to Jay Tate:

quote:

Parks said he spoke with coach Gene Chizik about the team’s overall offensive direction, though Chizik didn’t identify the Auburn’s next offensive coordinator. What does Parks want to see? “Pro style,” he said.

Yet you just said this not too long ago.

I would be shocked if it is the names mentioned in here (Roman or Cam Cameron).

You confuse the hell out of me bruh...Just saying

One day you would be shocked if we got either and now you are saying you wouldn't take one of them?

Rckymtn-

Said i'd be shocked if it was Cameron or Roman. Also said i'd be impressed with a Roman hire. Cameron would shock me, but that doesnt mean it would impress me.

I'll try to be clear - I would be shocked if it was Cameron or Roman. If it was Roman I would be very impressed. If it was Cameron I would be meh. If it is the Ravens QB coach i'd be least impressed of the three.

Roman is a guy who will be an HC w'in two years. Cameron was fired from last job and not extended at his current job. Ver Steeg impresses me least, but cld just be bc I know least about him.

TTsTowel -

I posted yesterday that i'd been told "the guy at USC us still in play ar AU". It's probably on around page 131 of this thread. I got slammed for it.

All I know is that Chiz has spoken to/interviewed someone on USC's staff. It may or may not have been Pola. it eould make more sense for it to have been USC's QB coach, but I dont know who it was...just that he talked to someone on USC's staff. Seems like all chatter is toward NFL guy, which as you know is what I mentioned weeks ago as being likely direction - pro in terms of experience and offensive philosophy.

Thanks for clearing up your position because when you first made the comment about being shocked. You didn't say you were impressed or not impressed with either one. However, one could assume you would be shocked in an impressive way were Chizik to get either one as his OC.

I guess it woulf be impressive to get Cameron in the sense that he's been an NFL head coach and OC for years. However, I dont know if his long-term plans are to be a college OC. You may be replacing him within a yr or two. Also, Ravens are ranked #12 in NFL offense, but there are only 32 teams. Being at bottom of top 1/3 is college ewuivalent of being in the 38-40 rank in total offense.

What I dont like about Cameron with Bmore is he passes waaaay too much considering how much the win when Rice gets 20+ carries & how poor Flacco plays at times. He may be different as a college OC though.

Saban was a pretty shitty pro football coach too. Just saying. I don't know enough about Cameron's whole history to be excited or not.
