Frankly, my completely uneducated guess is that Cowart was trolling everybody just like Ce-Ce but realized quickly that the national news was going to blow it up. Either he'll sign with Auburn because that was his intention all along, he'll sign with Auburn because he doesn't want more bad press, or he'll sign with UF because he genuinely wants to follow Ce-Ce. Sorry to say -- because I'm pulling for the Gators to get out of their rut -- but I suspect he wasn't waiting for Ce-Ce's decision for real...they're supposedly good friends, so it's just bizarre that Ce-Ce and Cowart wouldn't have coordinated something beforehand. As it is, it looks like they tried to coordinate a troll that didn't work.

That could be for sure. The whole thing about close to his mom is the part I don't understand. Gainesville was 2 hours. Auburn...not so much.

I think what lots of us are forgetting is that the fans are being subjected to a lot more anxiety than the players. Nobody has to sign on NSD. Cowart can sleep easy tonight knowing where he'll eventually end up (everybody will make room for a player of his stature) while the fans are fretting until something official happens.

Im wondering if it also had to do with Ivey. All the confusion started when Ivey committed to UF. Maybe they thought they would all end up together. I always thought Ivey was going to UF. Didnt know about Cowart and certainly didn't have a feel for Jefferson

This Cowart guy knows it doesn't have to be by fax, right? Pretty sure he can just take a picture of it and email it. If it's true that his coach won't fax it (which I don't believe), he can get Auburn to email a new one. This can all be done within 15 minutes.

Definitely a possibility. The whole Muschamp at Auburn thing probably threw a huge monkey wrench into whatever plans they had been discussing in the fall.
