UF should not be able to get away with this. It's some of the most egregiously unethical recruiting tactics I've come across.
Just sick, really.
Just sick, really.

Agree. They need a deadline. This circus should not exist.

UF? We didn't do shite.
Well, we got rid of a cancer from our program but that was a good thing.
And we just pulled in a hell of a class considering the scenario.
Here's to #11 next year!

How often are YOU coming across recruiting tactics, personally? Get real. How about "some of the most egregiously unethical recruiting tactics I've seen while watching recruiting from afar". That's a bit more appropriate.
And I don't think UF is doing anything here. This looks like his HS coach. I doubt we'll ever know the full truth either way, but the HS coach looks pretty douchey here.

Just a strange way to resolve this. I feel this kid was probably genuinely torn about where to go. He clearly loved FL and AU both.
I just want it over one way or the other, it is sad that this is turning into even more of a circus than it already was.

Woodrow Grady Cowart's "mentor" was the one suggesting the coach did something wrong.
And he is Davis's "mentor" as well. This was a package deal folks. Nothing to see, we are moving on.

Finebaum saying on his show right now that Cowart saga is over and the LOI is being faxed to Auburn right now.

And BTW, there is a reason why Davis never got a Florida LOI.

Because UF's class was stacked and they had no room?

No, because his "mentor" wanted the "best" school for him.

Corch speaks!
quote:
“There is no big scandal,” Callahan said. “I’m tired of being in the middle of this thing. … Really, I don’t care [where Cowart goes]. I’ve had a good relationship with coach [Will] Muschamp. [Muschamp now is at Auburn as defensive coordinator.] My son will still have his job no matter what happens with Byron.”
Farrell reported around 2 p.m. that Cowart was back at Armwood. But as of 1:30 there was no sign of him as Callahan said he anticipated turning over the signed letters to Grady for him to deal with. (A voicemail message left by Yahoo Sports with Grady was not immediately returned.) Then Callahan went back to overseeing cleanup duty in the cafeteria after trying to defuse the most puzzling situation on an annually drama-filled day.

I absolutely love the quotations.
What a bitch.

Grain of salt: Some "connected" poster on one of the UF message boards was saying the staff was not high on Davis and only showed interest in him for his connection to Tate (FSU signee) and Cowart. UF pulled his offer and that pissed off the mentor. Mentor then pushed Cowart to Auburn.
This poster called most of the new staff hires.

And the truth comes out. HS coach trying pulling tricks out for UF. Wow, just wow Florida.

how did you get that from that?

Why didn't Davis receive an LOI from Florida?
