Landon Collins

he still isn't starting, so much of Saban's pitch did not materialize.

1) Saban never told him he would start by X date. He told him he had the chance to start by X date.
2) Collins played a ton of snaps last year while winning a BCS Championship and will play considerably more this year.
3) You ever think maybe the girl followed LC to Bama and not the other way around?

I swear, every time a "good" prospect wants to leave LA to go to Bama LSU fans come up with all these reasons except the actual possibility that the KID wanted to go to a school out of state for his own reasons.

Sometimes you just lose recruiting battles. Deal with it. Thank God Bama fans didn't act this pissy over Winston going to FSU. I would have been embarrassed to have acted the way some of you LSU fans act.

It is the same thing as the guy who changed oil in Thibodaux a couplle of years ago when Greg Robinson went to Auburn. That little pipeline got completely shut down all of a sudden, didn't it?

Comparing Saban and staff to Chizik and staff?

"C'mon man"

I just wanted to see you crying about Robinson getting paid. Although my favorite line when losing out on a recruit is "we didn't want him anyway", seeing as you couldn't really claim that with such a highly rated recruit the old standby "Bama paid him" works better here.

Let me guess this has quickly dissolved into a if he picks Bama it's because Bama payed him or his people.

Of course. It was the same thing a couple months ago when Bama was considered the heavy favorite and CRob was being conceded to Bama by LSU fans but only because he was being influenced by shady people around him who had either been paid off by Bama or had known anti-LSU biases. What I want to know is that if Bama is so obviously cheating, how did LSU manage to close so much ground with CRob over the last 2 months?

Most of us aren't really freaking out, but it still hurts to lose a player of crobs level at a position of need.

Bama's success in getting OL drafted has been a self fulfilling prophecy, more polished NFL-style recruits go there after seeing a guy get drafted, then they get drafted too.

La'el may have been able to break the misconception that LSU doesn't develop top talent on the OL, but we might not get that shot.

Harris, and it's a fact that cam has several pro-Bama influences near him, it's just not as shady as some insist.

Wasn't Harris FWIW

Momma had a lot more to do with it than any other recruit, but LSU was playing catch up anyway

Lets be honest with ourselves here for a minute. I can understand if a kid wants to go out of state for a new experience in life, but with all due respect, Tuscalossa is not it.

Football wise, LSU and Bama are on equal ground. Both have great facilities, great coaches, great success sending players to the NFL, great success on the field and competing for titles and great fanbases.

So with all of that being equal you have to look outside of that on what would draw a player to one place over the other.

Then every kid would go to U$Cw or Miami

Sometimes there is a close enough school, that has a better track record of developing a kids position and connections are made etc with the staff and a kid chooses to go OOS

That doesn't mean it is the end of the world though, what if Fournette picks a different school? (Not saying he will just for instance) and his reasoning was too get away and have more life experience, it wouldn't be the end of LSU as a football power

Footballwise, Bama has been a little better lately. And, the rest of the factors you mentioned are up to interpretation by each individual recruit.

LSU and UA are not equal right now. If you believe that you are being a homer. He has a better shot at a title and the first round at UA. I don't see how that can be debated going by recent history.

It's been hashed out here before. A couple of extended family members are trying to make a name for themselves in the coaching world and attend Bama camps. Beyond that I don't read much into it.

Bucc I meant besides mom. She prefers LSU but I doubt she will really be that upset if he chooses Bama.

Is there anything indicating they're pro-Bama besides participating in Bama's camp? I thought I've read where they've participated in LSU's camp too and I know I've seen pics of them in LSU shirts.

maybe he thinks he could win a championship at Bama easily, and given the last 4 years, can you blame him?

It can easily be debated. Bama has had more success on the field but not without a few breaks. LSU is a few bounces away from the same success.

On the OL, Bama has had more highly rated talent and LSU has had a bad rash of injuries. La'el will prove that if a guy has the talent LSU can get him to the first round.

They drove Cam to a couple LSU camps but there have been posted convos of them saying they believe Bama is where Cam needs to go, and they work Bama's camps. It's not "handler" shady but it's definitely a mutual benefit situation between Bama and their careers.

Take off the blinders buddy.

Both LSU and Bama field teams year in and year out that can contend for a National Championship.

The past several years, the LSU/Bama game has had SEC Championship and National Championship implications riding on it.

Both are great programs who consistently send talent to the NFL.

If everything else were to remain equal at both schools except move one team over to SEC East, I would say we would see each other battle for the SEC Crown more often than not, with the winner going to play for a Natty.

If everything else were to remain equal at both schools except move one team over to a different conference, we would each be playing for a National Championship more often than not.
