Bama has been on top for 15+ years. That doesn't just turn off immediately.

LSU has been able to recruit at a high level through 4 consecutive coaches. Not sure why people expected Alabama recruiting to drop off immediately.

DeBoer will need to have success on the field to keep it going.

Alabama still has one of the most talented rosters in the country. Saban is still on staff. Deboer just took a garbage washington roster (from a raw talent perspective) to the title game and kept it close for 3 quarters. He also has one of the best win/loss records at nearly 90% as a head coach, he won 3 NAIA national titles over 4 years. Turned around a garbage Fresno state team in 2 years. Got Washington to 11-2 in year 1 and in the title game year 2, hes done incredible everywhere hes been with inferior talent. They also have a very good support staff. Some of the best facilities in the country. Massive booster and administrative support. All that on top of still being the most dominant school in college football history by miles.

All he has to do is win 10 or more games a year and he will keep hauling in top 5 classes.

Alabama football is similar to LSU baseball. Different coaches come and go and the program remains strong. Like the poster above said, some of the best facilities, administrative support from the top down. Everybody is all in.

DeBoer will go 8-4 or 9-3 this year. Watch the recruiting and fan base then

Bama will need to win at Saban level or it will crash down around them. It’s also weird you want to talk Bama on an LSU recruiting board.

I had cereal for breakfast, in case we want to talk about things that don't matter.

I tend to agree.

Can’t see DeBoer getting fewer than 3 losses this year. SEC is a different animal. Very few gimmes.

Bama is set up to be good for the next decade. What we're hoping is that they are more "normal good" like everyone else.....but Georgia. We've been right there with them the past few years making games close. We don't need a massive drop off....just a few clicks back.

Stop being a loser with a loser attitude. Saban is still on staff at Bama and they aren’t going to fall off right away anyway. We have way too many pussy-arse complainers and chicken littles like you in the LSU fanbase.

Just look how LSU has done in the 19 seasons since Saban left. He set us up for future success. It doesn’t just all evaporate overnight. It takes time for the success to erode away (unless you’re a complete moron like Ed Orgeron of course).

LSU is currently hauling in a top 5 class. That is never a thing that you complain about or scoff at. Classes with that much talent win championships when they are coached properly. We’re bringing in all the talent we need to win a championship. Get a grip and quit complaining about a top 5 recruiting class, please.

What a terrible thread

DeBoer is a good coach. His recruiting hasn't been great. Also just noticed that he's moved every 2 years.

If he signs a 5*, it would be his first. (I'm still counting '24 as Saban's class)

My opinion is that Bama will still pull guys, but won't be top tier every year.

In other news, 2nd mortgages on mobile homes are way, way up in Bama. Need NIL $$$ to stay relevant

Another chicken little. That’s not the only positive.

Saban is gone and Bama’s power will wane and erode away over time. You have to have realistic expectations though. It will NOT just happen immediately overnight.

Everything Saban built is still there. Top of the line facilities, donor support, NIL structure. Coaching change isn’t going to make them UAB overnight, but the ground will get shakey if he doesn’t hit the ground running. Those boosters were okay sitting on the sidelines when a GOAT is running the show, but you got 9-3 or 8-4 once or twice and they are going to start getting itchy for more control or complete change

He'll need to have success on the field to even sign the guys he has committed. These kids could flip 4 times before early signing day the way that money is being tossed around right now.
