Ole Miss has a strong NIL pool but more importantly, Ole Miss spends it wisely.

He is a great player...just look at his stats!

2023
Total Tackles - 37 (in 12 games)
New Mexico (4-8) - 7
Miami (7-5) - 2
Louisiana Monroe (2-10) - 1
Auburn (6-6) - 4
Arkansas (4-8) - 6
Alabama (12-1) - 2
Tennessee (8-4) - 4
South Carolina (5-7) - 0
Ole Miss - (10-2) - 3
Mississippi State - (5-7) - 3
Abilene Christian (5-6) - 4
LSU (9-3) - 1

Of his 37 total tackles, 27% came against teams with a winning record.

Fortunately for Ole Miss...they have the second weakest schedule in the SEC in 2024...so that is set up for Nolen to shine. Imagine the numbers he could put up if he had decided to transfer to Missouri...

Dude you’re showing your ignorance. Tell me when a modern era DT was putting up gaudy stats. Outside of Suh’s last year in college or Sharp’s time in Monte Kiffin’s D, it doesn’t happen. Most of the time you are Fletcher Cox type eating up double teams, filling gaps and making life difficult for the QB to step up in the pocket. That role frees up other, DEs or LBs, to make the tackles……

But this line will be pick your poison for opposing offenses. Please double team Walter. Baron, Prince and JJ will enjoy that. And we can roll in Jared, Z, Jamarious, Franklin and maybe young mister Ecohles to spell them. Hopefully we get the other 3 nasty 4*s freshman some snaps also! Ole Miss DL stacked bigly for the next couple years and more are on the way!

I watched this kid play in HS, and couldn't see (besides his size) why he was getting so much attention.

In the SEC, Justin Eboigbe has 23 more total tackles in 1 more game than Nolan.

But let's look and see how they did against common opponents for a real head-to-head comparison:

LSU - Nolan 1 assisted tackle (1 total)/ Eboigbe 4 assisted tackles, 2 solo tackles (6 total)

Miss St - Nolan 1 assist, 2 solo (3 total)/ Eboigbe 5 assist, 1 solo (6 total)

Ole Miss - Nolan 2 assist, 1 solo (3 total)/ Eboigbe 1 assist, 2 solo (3 total)

Tennessee - Nolan 3 solo, 1 assist (4 total)/ Eboigbe 3 assist, 5 solo (8 total)

Arkansas - Nolan 2 assist, 4 solo (6 total)/ Eboigbe 3 assist, 2 solo (5 total)

Auburn - Nolan 3 assist, 1 solo (4 total)/ Eboigbe 1 assist, 3 solo (4 total)

aTm vs Bama - Nolan 2 solo (2 total)/ Eboigbe 3 assist, 2 solo (5 total)

I'm not saying that Nolan isn't a good transfer portal pickup...but he is nowhere near the #1 recruit that he was listed as out of HS.

Yes. Comparing guys who have completely different defenses, personnel, and coaches absolutely works.

Dude...that's pretty much what people do with every position in football.

Go on tRant and show me a comparison of players who aren't in different schemes with different personnel and coaches.

So you see absolutely nothing wrong with comparing stats from a sophomore A&M player to a fricking 5th year senior Bama player?

Terrance Cody had 28 tackles his senior season. Would you rank him with other 28 tackle defensive linemen? Or do you think....just maybe...his job wasn't to eat up tackles but instead eat up blockers?

Do you understand that you can't compare stats between a receiving Tight End vs a blocking Tight End when discussing how much of a difference maker they are for their respective offenses?

are you aware there's a difference between defensive tackles(Nolen) and a fricking defensive end(Eboigbe)?

the player we're making him out to be is a likely solid missing piece to our defensive line.

still wondering if madmax has figured out yet that you can't compare a 2nd year defensive tackle to a 5th year defensive end.

Same thing could be said about 5* QBs that like to turn over the football.
