Strong hasn't even had 1 recruiting cycle yet.
every single person inside the texas program said 2015 should show some type of fight from strong in recruiting. it hasn't. the early returns for 2016? the same. texas is going to need to win the big 12 and we are going to need to tank for them to switch back and im sorry I just don't see either happening

You really don't keep up with current events.

They "backed off" of Wittek.

That leaves them with David Ash, whose next concussion might leave him unable to speak, let alone play, Tyrone Swoops, who went an impressive 1-9 in 1A ball his senior year, and Jerrod Heard, a TRUE FRESHMAN on a team with no offensive identity.

Claiborne and Golden we're responsible for 5/8 arrests and 2 of the others were Not paying a speeding ticket and vulgarity.. (Which is being contested)

Jimmy...the USC QB isn' t coming b/c he didn't graduate. Heard will be a true Fr QB..who knows? A&M is on par with ut in most everything that matters and ahead of them in some also....also we dominated on the field and in recruiting in the 80-90's, so it's not like it hasn't happened before.
NOW, being in the Sec has given us something to sell they don't have. MOST of the recruits have said that plays a HUGE part.
Most smart ut folks saw what could happen with our move...why do you think they're so bitter?

Also...EVERY new coach has come in (even in 4-6 weeks) before their first signing day and flip/ get some big time 4* or greater players...Strong, ZILCH

Brown did, HELL even Fran and Sherman did.

Not really being cocky when even Geoff Ketchum, the UTx Rivals site owner, writes this:

quote:

I'm not sure when the exact moment occurred, whether it was when I heard the state's No. 1 player in the 2016 class mention that the Longhorns were in his "top 15" or whether it had anything to do with the fact that I didn't witness a single sliver of burnt orange at the Five-Star Challenge, while maroon could be seen at almost every turn, but I came to a conclusion this weekend that changes the way I'll be making my 2015 class projections.

Until the Longhorns turn it around on the field with a style of play that generates significant buzz, I just can't give Charlie Strong and Co. the benefit of the doubt when it comes to the biggest blue chips in the state of Texas for 2015. You guys can complain about the unfairness of it all and we can debate the ways all day long, but the hard truth is that Texas just doesn't have the juice right now needed to land the Malik Jeffersons and Kendall Sheffields of the world.

When horn fans complain about recruiting being UNFAIR to them, you know shite just got real.

The 2 players arrested for anything remotely serious were immediately dismissed from the team. This is hilarious coming from an LSU fan, who just had a player arrested for battery and last year had a head coach abdicate his responsibility and put it up to a player vote (wonder which way that would go...) whether to reinstate a guy who's assault video went viral. But whatever, it's all good.

Not to mention kicking a player off the team for stealing from teammates.

quote:

“In the state of Texas, A&M has taken over,” Cedar Hill (Texas) High School coach Joey McGuire said. “Through what coach [Kevin] Sumlin has done and then what Johnny Manziel did to help put that school in such a great position, it's helped them move to whole different level. They're the hot thing going right now. It's hard to beat, even for a program like Texas.”

As any Texas fan will tell you, there’s nothing worse than losing to the hated Aggies. The recruiting beatdown could continue as A&M is in good position with cornerback Kendall Sheffield, linebacker Malik Jefferson, defensive end James Lockhart and cornerback Kris Boyd -- all ESPN 300 prospects strongly considering playing in College Station.

A Big 12 assistant who recruits in the Lone Star State said he could see that Texas would have problems on the recruiting trail the minute Strong announced his staff. The assistant praised Strong for luring Joe Wickline away from Oklahoma State and believes his addition will help the Longhorns find some hidden gems along the offensive line. But after that, the assistant said it was hardly the all-star cast many thought Strong could assemble, given the school’s resources.

“I thought [Strong] needed to bring in guys that can stand toe-to-toe against A&M, LSU, Alabama, Oklahoma and all the other top teams that recruit in Texas,” the coach said. “He needed guys that had deep ties with the high school coaches in Texas. Instead, he got a lot of coaches that can win recruiting battles against Cincinnati, UCF and teams like that. This is the Big 12, not the AAC.”
