There's not a hair's difference between the top five classes ... especially with transfer portal.
There's not a hair's difference between the top 3 classes, but there is a MASSIVE difference between 3 and 5.
The 5th ranked team has 3 top 100 players. Each of the top 3 teams have like 15 top 100 players each.

A&M's kryptonite will basically be the fact that they're stuck in the same division as the one team that can't just out-talent.
Also, while Alabama has some head scratchers in regards to losses, A&M has had a lot more based on their talent. The lack of a marquee QB (mostly just because of misses), but even when you had them (like Manziel) you had trouble sealing the deal. With your win over Alabama, this should have been your year in Atlanta but then A&M did... well, A&M things.
Get the right QB, and an offense that takes advantage of this talent, and the annual Alabama/A&M game will end up being a defacto play-in for Atlanta.
Very fair analysis. QB position is the biggest ?????. We think we have our guy with either Haynes or Weigman. Both are insanely talented and proven HS winners, unlike Zach Calzada, but uncompletely unproven in Div I play. Haynes going down this year basically ended our chance of a CFP spot.
My guess is that we go 9 or 10 wins next year but loss 2-3 games mainly due to lack of experience at QB position. 2023 Season we finally have put a experienced QB on the field surrounded by studs at every position.
We will remain patient as this is a process with very focused goals to get to a Bama level year in and year out.

I’m not sure where OSU sits with numbers but quality wise per player they are up near the top.
If they took 25 they would be right in the thick of it
As said the talent is congregating to fewer schools year by year. I think some of that ends with a 12 team playoff

Jayson Jones, a 6.6 320 lb DL from Oregon entered the portal. He is from Calera, Al and was offered by Bama in 2020. He was also rated as a top OT in high school. Have to believe Bama would consider if position is open.

your not setting at number 1 Texas A@M is which has zero to do with you ..... your a fan... you did nothing and its early signing day not final and A@M is still 7-4 A@M.

I know Greene and Miller. Who else?
We will kick the tires on guys who didn't sign just like everyone else. We missed on two we really wanted so that opened some spots either via portal/recruits. Odds are though, we look to add Green and Miller and hold on to the guys who didn't sign early.

Niblack will be a TE for Bama, and will eventually be a star. One of the most underrated players Saban has ever signed, IMO. Has potential to be the next Kyle Pitts/Brock Bowers.
