How good is Shane? Would he do well in our RPO offense?

Didn’t you land the Clemson kid? Would be strange to land 2 QB transfers, unless this guy can’t play in 19.

Kelley Bryant ended up at Mizzou. Also our starter last year, Ty Storey is now transferring.

Throws a good deep ball. Overall a pretty decent QB.

Good kid who I'd definitely want if I were Arkansas.

He’s a upgrade at qb. I liked your qb but he wasn’t overly talented. He showed a lot of grit though. Buchele is more of a gunslinger and fit perfectly in Morris offense.

He's pretty damned average. Texas fans hate him, and have for years now

Probably will be better than getting Kelly Bryant.

Shane is clearly above mediocre. Good luck with that turnover machine.

I think he's fine. He gets a bad rap after his career sort of stagnated after his freshman campaign. Folks here in Austin thought we had the next Andrew Luck, which is unfair to put that on a 19 year old kid.

Either way, his play stagnated and Ehlinger took over and the rest is history. He's a great kid with a good head on his shoulders and I'm sure he'll do fine for you guys if he ends up in Fayetteville.

Not particularly mobile. Worries that he might not be able to take a hit.

Very accurate.

Texas fans were frustrated more about the program's progression than Shane, but he of course bore the brunt of the blame. Ehlinger obviously more of a bruiser and Texas fans wanted to see some physicality.

He's probably had a lot to do with Ehlinger's development this year. Asset to the locker room, and a solid QB.

I think it was pretty clear that a grad transfer was coming in

Not sure what is going to happen to Nolan (also playing baseball) but he would have a better chance of starting next year over Storey if he is still playing football imo.

Shane has a decent football IQ, average arm, and is in desperate need of actual coaching - something he would never get at Texas. He might be okay at Arkansas, where he would at least be an upgrade over anything they have.

Arkansas is better off developing what they have though

average arm

Is it really average? After looking at tape, I would say that is his strongest attribute. He is a gunslinger though and takes to many risks at times.

There is only really one player that is going to be a long term answer for the team and he isn't even on campus yet. Assuming Noland prioritizes baseball. We absolutely would not be better off developing our players unless we just want to win 2 games next year.

I figured this is more what it was as soon as I started hearing the knocks on him. Nothing from his tape shows any serious issues. Looks like he just got banged up and Texas got impatient. First true freshman to start for Texas at QB in 70 something years. He obviously does something right.

Or he just wasn’t nearly as good as the other QB
