The rumors about Lane and the Mannings stem from Archie allegedly being unsure of the hire because of how Lane left Tennessee.

Thanks for the answer.

Ole Miss.

The family is happy to float to media that's he's interested in other schools - they don't want the perception to be that OM was always a lock.

I would be super shocked to see him go anywhere but Ole Miss as long as Lane stays. Now, if Lane leaves for a different job. I think he ends up at UGA or BAMA. Ole Miss is the front runner here.

No way of knowing right now. I think coaching uncertainty at LSU hurts the Tigers chances, and Texas hasn't done enough winning in recent years to inspire much confidence that he could go there and win championships. I think it's one of Alabama, Georgia, or Ole Miss.

I'd go as far to say that LSU isn't getting anything but a courtesy mention to keep local pressure off. That could change but there's too much uncertainty there at the moment.

The constant OC turnover at Bama is a concern for them and they are not particularly enamored with UGA's offense although I do think UGA is probably running 3rd at the moment. I do think Arch will play for an offensive minded HC which is why I think Ole Miss or Texas (assuming Kiffin/Sark stay put)

How is it not a recruiting violation for Saban to go that telecast and basically recruit a Manning

He never even alluded to Arch much less mentioned his name

I think this is correct but I think Notre Dame and Virginia are dark horses

Yet all three head coaches were under Saban. And two of them were his OCs.

I get what you’re saying, but you’d think that would actually be a positive.

Arch plus Bama plus NIL money would break records
Manning is going to break records no matter where he goes

That name has more brand power than Bama

He goes to Ole Miss and every single business in that state will line up to give him deals

Not only that but the family is worth a ton of money already. Cooper has had a very nice post football career.

Hell I hope so....

He is killing it in the energy sector.

NIL is secondary with the money they have.

No idea where he’s going but I think ole miss has a great shot. Kiffin has turned a QB who was riding the bench into the heisman front runner. His offense is fun, innovative, and lights up scoreboards.

If Lebby leaves, I could see the Mannings influencing who will be Arch’s QB coach to seal the deal. I just hope he lives up to the hype. Archie and Eli were legendary.

I really wouldn’t be surprised if ended up at any of those schools he’s visiting. Obviously the family connection at Ole Miss is strong but this will be his decision. There’s zero chance Cooper will put any pressure on him to choose Ole Miss because of the way Archie was about that with all of his boys. The top 2 programs of the past decade, a school on the verge of that in UGA and another that has no reason not to be in the college playoff if they ever solve the coach and qb situation. I’ve never been to Clemson, but can’t fault a kid for wanting to be the star qb in Oxford, Tuscaloosa, Athens or Austin. If I had to put money on one it would be Texas.

NIL won’t really mean much in where he goes. Manning name will carries enough weight to cancel out any worries of him going to a “small market” school. He will be must see tv at any school he goes to and any brand that wants to sponsor him isn’t going to turn him down if he goes to bama instead of Texas or ole miss instead of bama etc.

Also he’s gonna be so focused on playing football to get to the NFL and win that he’s not going to get lost in the moment nickel and dime chasing if one school can get him 10% more NIL money per year. Manning family will keep him focused on long term success and not throwing away future earnings to make a quick buck in college.

I think at the end of the day the coach or coaching staff he feels most comfortable with will win.

I would suspect Arch might want money of his own. Most kids do not want to be "daddy dependent". To Cooper? Yes, he would probably give his son whatever he needs or wants. But if a kid wants to be independent (what kid doesn't?) then I suspect NIL would be a factor. Texas A&M, from most accounts I have heard, does a great job with NIL pitches. They are way ahead in that regard. That is not mean as a dig.....NIL is now a part of recruiting and anybody not using it is not doing their best.

This is exactly what I was thinking. I mean, Cooper is his own man and maybe he does try to steer Arch toward Ole Miss....but the Mannings have always seemed to be the type that does not tie themselves down to sentiment. Just my opinion.
