If that's who they're talking about, they're idiots. He didn't get asked to gray shirt. He was initially supposed to early enroll. Had a transcript frick up and then on the night he was staying at Kieland and Chuck Scott's house before he enrolled he was doing blow in their bathroom.
That all happened in January, not August.

that's usually describing ole dex, not porter
porter didn't have a scholarship b/c the clearinghouse told LSU in certain terms that brad wing would not qualify. when he magically qualified at the last second, LSU didn't have room and asked porter to greyshirt. that was a NSD issue if memory serves b/c he signed with UK pretty quickly after

ETA: Porter is the one from OTL episode, that's why people still talk about him.

Naw the clearinghouse doesn't get guys "magically qualified" until mid-late august.
I'm pretty sure Porter went to UK really really late in the game.
