Not sure why the only alternative is Athens in that case

Why will he be in Athens?

If Evans stays out of trouble he probably goes to UGA. RB coach Dell McGee really wants him and believes in the kid. Kirby is much more skeptical given all the events that have unfolded.

Obviously if Kirby wasn’t skeptical, UGA wouldn’t have released ZE from the LOI earlier this month and this recruitment would be over.

Seems UGA was willing to lose ZE and let him look around but Dell persuaded Kirbster to leave the door cracked open to see if ZE can fly straight for a few months with no more incidents.

Obviously ZE has limited his options with his off-field shenanigans with his HS coach, but I have no doubt he has multiple options - convinced Ole Miss, Tenn, and Florida would take him in a heartbeat if they really thought he would come. The story publicly for schools that don’t get Evans will be leaked to fanbase “yeah we passed on him” and is probably true for some schools but not all. Most SEC schools would take the chance on the talent.

So you went from:

No way Bama told him no and hope he comes to LSU (high horse)

to

He's going to end up at Texas A&M... they deserve each other (jilted)

to

Please sign with the Dawgs. Kid is crazy as a loon (jilted part deux with a little sad troll in there)

Impressive transition over the last couple of months.

Bama anf A&M have told him no, they wanted no part of this headache. Georgia would be wise to follow suit.

This kid will not be happy at a top program where he won't be the top dog, he would transfer within a year at Georgia.

No debate there, but the young man can run the football.

How can Mullen “throw it in Smart’s face” when Kirby has already passed on the kid.

We gave him a release to his LOI.

Something scared Kirby off
Can you show me where this is wrong? I mean, again, we gave him a release to his LOI. Georgia did not have to release him, did we?

I thought that was obvious. It was obviously false (bullshite, really) that UGA let Evans out of his LOI because Kirby "passed on him" because something about Evans "scared Kirby off."

All right. You tell us. Why did Georgia give the #1 RB in the country, a top 50 player a release to his LOI?

Thank God LSU has a loaded stable of studs to run the ball. We have one of the best backfields in the nation returning with curry, Davis price and Emery. We don't need to take a risk on this headcase.

The fact remains Evans wanted to be a Dawg in September when he was originally supposed to commit (and had the blow-up with HS coach) and then had the 2nd blowup with HS coach right after signing his LOI with UGA.

He will be hell on wheels if his head does not get in the way. His actions in High School were not too respectful

frick that. The kid has all the talent in the world but will be an absolute cancer in whichever locker room he ends up. Not worth the headache.

I’m pretty sure Kirby will have him on a short leash. I cannot blame UGA for wanting to bring him in and give it a go considering the talent.

Hershel was crazy too. Nothing wrong with a little bit of crazy for a football player especially. You have to be a little crazy.

Kirby wants Evans. UGA Admin has said no for now until he clears up some issues (possible legal issues). It was not just the incidents with his high school coach. I see Dawgs grabbing BPA other than Evans and only add him later on if things get cleared up and we have room.

Zach requested release from LOI because he was not going to be admitted to enroll early. Unfortunately for Evans, he found out that was the case elsewhere.

ZE’s has great potential as a college RB but when it comes to maturity, he’s a wildcard, and frankly, in light of his HS behavior, a locker room risk, especially if he doesn’t get what he believes he deserves.

Wonder how he’ll react when he experiences the competition at the collegiate level — big fish in a little pond now in a big lake of other very talented players.
