I don’t see why it’s that big of a surprise. Alabama has a long standing relationship with IMG. Several kids on the current roster from there. David Balou, the Alabama strength coach, has deep ties there too.

Just because another school potentially offers more NIL money isn’t sleazy it’s literally part of the game now.

If you have two schools like LSU and Bama both on you unless you have some sort of tie to the university like family etc they both provide you with the opportunity to showcase your skills to the NFL.

In his presser yesterday Saban hinted that they were trying to bring on another corner. I don't think he would have dropped the hint without a pretty good idea he was going to get another corner.

Don't even know why I'm surprised. Seems like this happens every year--kid is reported to be a heavy LSU lean for months just to have Saban come in and snatch him up at the last minute. Sucks but it is what it is. Saban is the goat for a reason

Saban didn't just swoop in yesterday.
Alabama led for Ricks when he was a Class of 2024 recruit. The LSU "leads" rumors didn't start until after he reclassified.

He did however swoop in yesterday with a strong arse offer that we wouldn't be able to counter. It sucks but that's just part of it, and it will keep happening until we get NIL squared away on our end.
