Don't Bama 5* recruits have to wait their turn too? How many rushing yards did Najee Harris have prior to 2019?

UGA recruiting classes according to 247
2017: 3
2018: 1
2019: 2
2020: 1
Calling it a decline when we are coming off the #1 ranked class and 2020 Cfball hasn't started is a bit of a stretch...even by chicken little standards.
I love the "fraud as head coach" line as well. If predictable 10+ win seasons in the SEC, SEC East champs, SEC champions, one snap away from NC, and four straight top 5 recruiting classes is being a "fraud"....then I'm good with Bernie Madoff as our HC.

Lets do some comparisons for tdecline
Lets say we finish #5 for 2021 our 5 year average would be 2.5
Bama - 2.2 if they finish #2
LSU- 6.8 if they finish #3
Ohio St - 4.8 if they finish #1
Clemson - 8.0 if they finish #4
With UGA having a couple of 2022 top 100 recruits committed, CotDam tdecline is real

Could be a monster LB once in college
Havent watched his highlights or anything but if u found a 6'5 Derwin James
Well fuk. Diwun Black similar type still inch and half shorter
Still 2 awesome athletes who seem too big but may thrive at SS and even in coverage

Is this the thread where everyone airs out their vag re:UGA? Good. Keep it centralized in one thread.

I think this has nothing to do with UGA and everything to do with Covid. This is not going to be a year to rely on out of state recruits, particularly if no one ends up playing, universities shut down in the Spring again, and/or the 2021 season becomes threatened.
A lot of players are looking closely at staying home if they aren't playing, and it appears Miami (annually arse-raped on the trail) is far and away the best positioned to profit from this. Also guessing they've got the best current pitch about monetizing player likeness and endorsements, but I don't pay enough attention to recruiting anymore to be certain.

EXACTLY!!! Which makes it even MORE mind boggy... You guys have arguably the most talented (star wise) roster in CFB...

What's mind boggy?
The talent is reaching its peak this season. 2020.
Outside of having a Burrow at QB, we wont get more talented than we are right now.

A big chunk of that talent now plays for other teams.

Checking the recruiting classes of both schools we and LSU are the closest thing to Alabama in the SEC. When you have classes like Alabama, Georgia and LSU some players have to wait their turn, or they have to be able to come on strong early. Walker will be fine. He's an excellent player, but he has some really good players ahead of him up until now.
We have been close to Alabama in recruiting and on the field. What is Tennessee close to Alabama in besides proximity?

Nobody is printing shirts, but do you consider those rankings a decline?

I would rather have great recruiting classes than not have them.

No we don't. Alabama still does. And you guys didn't exactly tear it up last year, either.

They have won like 7 natties since Georgia last won one. They’ve won 5 since Georgia last beat Alabama.

I don’t see VOLS likening our football program to Alabama but that’s just me.

They link recruiting to actual wins on the field
Coaching out the window when u lose to muschamp during your supposed year where it's all set up
In reality with far less talent gators and dawgs finished very close the last 2 years in polls
I think actually ahead in 18
With Mac guys smh they gone now basically

You probably didnt notice us dipping into our 3rd string left tackle, 3rd string left guard, third string center, third string right guard, and second string right tackle last season.
Why? Because they were good enough to go unnoticed.
We dont have the depth to do that in 2020. But the top 6 guys are ready to go.

Pittman had us as one of the best pass blocking units in the country last season. Even with all of the injuries. We were not one of the best run blocking teams. As a matter of fact, the run blocking schemes were bland and effectiveness was average at best.
I expect a step back in pass blocking. But there is plenty of room to improve the run blocking that Pittman had at UGA. Matt Luke has an excellent reputation as well.
