Original point was about comparing top 25 records to LSU. LSU gets the benefit of the doubt because they’ve won a title. It devolved into this argument about things beside the initial point.

Actually, the original point (I think) was a LSU fan saying Georgia had not done very well in Kirby's first 4 seasons against top tier teams. Then one of our posters did the last 4 seasons records and asked if he wanted to see if LSU's records verses top tier teams was.

I get your point. Yes, LSU does have a Title. And they were great winning it. But, that has nothing to do with Georgia's record against top 15 teams. It is a very good record. And then the fan wanted to start saying if you take Baylor and Kentucky out our record wouldn't look that good. So....we should take some of the top 15 teams out now? That was a stupid point, and I think after posting it he realized it was stupid.

One more point about these arbitrary time frames, if you consider the spread modern football, Florida was running the original iteration of the spread in the 2000’s with Leak and Tebow under Mullen, so that wouldn’t leave out Florida either.
That wasn't a spread. I mean, you can stretch points and compare similarities if you want, but then you could trace those all the way back to the wishbone. They all have some aspects and they all came from each other to a degree.

I'm not putting Florida down. You guys have done great and have plenty to be proud about. I am most jealous of the overall athletic program. I am just a little surprised at the number of fans that think they have the belittle Georgia and say we have no accomplishments since 1980. That's just ignorant.

It's not unusual for threads to take a hard left turn once it has played out. nothing more to say about James Williams. Hopefully we can get back in it with him and flip him. We'll see.

I guess when your football team has been dog shite for close to 20 years you care less about your team.

I’ve never seen a less accurate description of the average Georgia fan. By and large, they actually have common sense when it comes to politics. It’s the Georgia State, Georgia Tech and Emory folks you must be thinking of.

In message boards the instances are significantly higher than expected. And the trend started in the last 6-7 years. It doesn’t hold as true as the greatly overestimating their own self worth thing but it’s higher than I ever thought it would be.

You are basing this on several posters on a message board?

If you go to out board, I would guess 89% or more are very conservative.

The state does seem to be trending leftward as a whole, because of the influx of northeasterners coming in to the state. But the Gator fan is correct. We are a conservative bunch by a long ways as a whole. I'm sure if you go to a select message board we could get the impression that Tennessee fans are liberal, too....but to call Georgia fans left of Nancy Pelosi?

Wasn't it Tennessee fans that assured everyone that would listen that they were back for several years with Butch? Dude. UT hasn't won a SEC title in 21 years. It's been 12 years since they won the East. Who exaggerates their self worth? I must have misread?

Tennessee has a great history, but badly needs Pruitt to get them back to relevance. And by relevance I mean just contending for the SEC Championship.

Because they do well financially and want to keep their money. Makes perfect sense.

The sidewalk fans seem to be more Republican than the alumni that I know.
