Alabama is ranked 106th in engineering. Literally LSU, Auburn, Vanderbilt, Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina, Missouri, and Texas A&M are all ranked above Bama for engineering...and that's just in the SEC. Keep in mind not all SEC schools have engineering either. Alabama is not a good engineering program.

Remember how Patrick Ewing said "we make a lot, but we spend a lot"? Well that's like me with BS. I have a lot, but I talk a lot.

Anyway. Carry on. No engineering degrees here. Just a lowly communication grad.

Some down vote every post I make because they just don't like me personally. It is what it is.

Funny. We were just thinking the same about some Bama posters.

But I get your point. Why in the world should Georgia fans believe we could get a recruit Alabama wants?

You were all up in it, so, apparently Bama fans are not.

Still salty about it, huh?

You used full sentences and picked up social cues. I knew you weren’t an engineer right away.

Alabama has a very weak engineering program. Auburn is much stronger. If the kid really wants to play football and go to a top notch engineering school he would go to Georgia Tech. I think we all know engineering is not the main reason he is going to college though
Simply not true. In fact, it is now on par with AU. I know being involved in hiring engineers. Besides few care much about the school if it is considered legitimate. The primary exceptions are some high level gov't jobs who value Ivy League degrees. I was in the real world and we cared little about the educational background if the degree was from at least a decent program. Didn't even care that much about grades as long as they were decent. As a prospective employer your primary interest is in problem solving skills that a candidate has and how they work together with others. Skillful interviews and an accurate perception of their history are critical. Even working with various tools, languages, etc. didn't mean much unless you were hiring someone for a very quick fix. (But IMO, that is rarely wise, just hire a contractor. Then their experience with certain tools will be valuable.)

The bottom line is that Bama has a very fine School of Engineering.

But as others have noted, it will be extremely difficult to pursue an Eng degree and play for a big time program. Though it can be done.

Josh Dobbs did it at Tennessee. Nakobe Dean is very intelligent, an outstanding student. He can probably do it.

He graduated from college in three and a half years, finishing with a 3.4 grade point average and receiving a degree in sports marketing
