Wouldn’t be the first time we beat you with all your plan B’s we’ll take them. Looking at the star power vs. production on your Dline. I would be hard pressed to say whoever is evaluating that position for you guys is doing a good job anyway. He certainly isn’t as good as your offensive line coach.

Well shite... if that's your bar for success, pretty much no one else in the country measures up... Pittman is on another level.

Take a look around a few posts about our DL recruiting, Scott doesn't have a ton of supporters right now. Most of the more rational fans have said this year should be a pretty big "show me" year for him. Jalen Carter was a great pull. He has only been on the staff 2 years and prior to that we had Rocker who was ushered out the door after some woeful recruiting efforts that ended in some kind of "altercation/argument" with a kid's parent IIRC.
There's an aspect to 3:4 vs 4:3 defenses that is always going to leave one side a little short sided due to the roles/responsibilities as well as the number of starting spots.
For example, both Myles Murphy and Bryan Bresee, 2019 top tier DL targets indicated that a big part of their school selection was defensive scheme. We weren't even in Murphy's top schools due to scheme preference and Bresee had us in a pretty distant second (doesn't hurt Clemson that they already had his girlfriend coming).

The flip side of that is we get better linebackers...
Even Alabama doesn't frequently get all world DL recruits from a pure rankings perspective (relative to other positions), but they have done an incredible job on the talent evaluation side at finding guys who will fit what they want to do well.

Gervon Dexter is our jewel. He is a freak. I’m fine with Johnnie Brown as a SDE but he’s definitely not a DT at his current size 6’2 250.
We close with Brinson and Tim Smith, then add Zykevious Walker and we’re really cooking on the defensive line in David turner’s first cycle as DL coach.

need a wtf do I know then gif... Fwiw: lots of speculation that stackhouse maybe was playing the recruiting game too hard and Brinson was ready to stop? At this point I'm going to give up trying to project our DL class... If it is better than last year I'll take that as trending the right direction...

Z Walker likely a stretch for you guys. He's either #1 or 2 on our board at DE... Of course I have about as much faith in Scott's recruiting right now as a potato... So there's always that. Hopefully he starts to turn it this year.

Whats confusing about it? We losing 5 guys off the Dline after this year(at least). You are not happy with this haul?

Yeah. Saw your post. I'm not surprised that it's close... Just don't believe he'll pick UF. Could easily see us losing him to Bama though.
