Yeah people are saying he doesn't want to leave Georgia
I almost get the feeling he sticks with tech
Does anyone know how real the bijan Robinson, lsu smoke month before signing day
I think they should've stopped recruiting Evans and focused on robinson

I can set it straight. Gibbs wants to stay close to home. His live in family is all GT. His live in brother is a PWO with Jahmyr (obviously not a PWO) at GT. He had a rough childhood so he lives with a live in family in Dalton. Gibbs has a very strong family pull to GT not to mention GT specifically Tashard Choice was in on him very early. Turns out they had a pretty good scouting report on him.
On UGA - had UGA been on him earlier he might have considered it. Not now. That door is shut for him and UGA knowing he was plan Z. He has said as much.
UF just got a 5 star RB from Miami via the portal. UF has sort of moved on.
Gibbs will take his visits and enjoy the process. It’s possible one of OSU or UF or LSU makes an impression on him. But with GT getting the last OV right before Feb signing and his family influence with GT and staying close to home it’s going to be tough. Chad Simmons and other national recruiting scouts have recently said they dont see Gibbs flipping.

Good for GT, then. Collins is doing a good job so far there.

I'm sure they'd take him but it's not the need it was a week ago.

Nice post. I learned more about Gibbs recruitment in these 4 paragraphs than I did reading this and the LSU recruiting board for the last 4 months.
Thanks.

It’s crazy the amount of misinformation that is spread when it comes to recruiting. Every fanbase has a reason or a secret “source” that knows exactly what is going on and that secret almost always favors the team they are a fan of.
Most of the time it’s not hard to see where a kid head is really at. At any point Gibbs could have decommitted and opened it up but he has remained committed despite all these “big offers”. Collins has done a great job early on fending off factory programs from elite talent around Atlanta. Jamious Griffin last year and holding onto Gibbs would be another step in the right direction

Not real at all
LSU insiders were saying they had a RB flip on the hook and their posters speculated it was Bijan
Bijan was always going to Texas barring Stan Drayton leaving before he signed

Yeah, once I saw his tape I was hoping we would get on him, but we didn't. I hate it. I think he will be an excellent back. GT, or whoever will get them a good one in Gibbs.

The biggest complaint i have about this place (whether it is the team board or recruiting board) is that people come into threads with a ton of rumors from other boards, their own speculation, and just plain guesses. It all gets mixed in together and it is difficult to separate facts from conjecture and wild guesses....and then when you add people who know nothing but throw crap out there to look like they know something.....

Wish we could get Gibbs, but he’d basically be “the guy” at tech. The only downside will be the extra wear and tear because I’m going to assume they will rely on him a lot.

Not at all. JP Mason was All ACC and graded out as one of the best RBs in the country according PFF (which I don’t know how much I put on them but on a relative scale it means something). We also have Jamious Griffin who was a 4 star recruit and Gatorade POY in GA in last years class. Collins got him super late. Flipped him from NCST last minute.
Gibbs will have a role but he is far from day 1 starter. That’s not how Tashard Choice coaches his players. He will have to earn his snaps.

There is another one I really liked. If I recall correctly, he came out of nowhere. Wasn't on a lot of radars, then had a great senior season and everybody sat up and took notice.
If GT can pull Gibbs this year, you guys will have two really, really good young guys. (I don't know anything about Mason, so I will stop with Griffin and Gibbs)

Jamious committed to NC State in his junior year at Rome HS. He shared carries with on of his cousins or his brother (there were 4 Griffins on the team at that time). Became the feature back his senior year and blew up becoming the Gatorade Player of the Year in Georgia. Not a speed guy, more of a bruiser.

Can you tell me if these alleged facebook/IG posts by his family saying he is going to OSU are real, fake, or altered?
People on OSU site initially said it looked good, then people said it must be fake, then some said it was his actual family.
Just trolling?
Recruiting is a hell of a drug

I couldn't remember the particulars, but once you said he came out of Rome it all clicked into place.

The only “family” he’s had any real contact with since he was a small boy has been his Grandmother, who he lived with until he started High School, and then he began living with a couple of families of High School Team Mates. Facebook postings by people claiming to be relatives other than his Grandmother should be looked at very skeptically. Also, the people who went with him to Texas to the All America Bowl were the family he’s staying with (which includes his best friend who is also going to GA Tech as a Preferred Walk On).

Just an update. Gibbs is no longer OV OSU or LSU. Just Florida and GT. He will OV to UF next weekend and wrap it up with a GT OV the final weekend before NSD.

Gibbs says he can’t make it to LSU b/c we are at the White House today. Sorry I guess

Not sure where you're getting that info from. Gibbs was supposed to be OV'ing OSU today (and this weekend), coming to LSU on the 21st, UF on the 24th, then GT on the 31st. Not sure if he or OSU were the ones that cancelled that visit but speculation is they don't have any scholarships left. I haven't heard any reason that he cancelled the LSU OV other than just hearing the rumor that he has again cancelled that visit.

It's a pay article, so I'm not sure how accurate the above quote is. Feel free to confirm if you have a 247 sub.
