The mental gymnastics on passing on an instate talent from the coaching staff and fan base should concern you. I saw that play out under Hardin.

Nice pickup for the Tigers. He looks like he’ll be a good one

It’s just a very odd situation. His stats and people who have watched him play say he’s not a great player but his rating and offers say otherwise.

Obviously there is something there that can be developed. I don’t like the concept of forcing coaches to want a guy simply because he’s in state either though, I wouldn’t have wanted Kiehl Frazier just because he was from Arkansas and highly rated. Don’t really understand that logic.

It’s not mental gymnastics. We just got fricked by Briles leaving. Briles preferred Michael Hawkins who is top 200 on 247 and actually rated higher than White on Rivals. Hawkins was about to commit to us right before Briles went to TCU. Briles barely recruited White and left Enos in a shitty spot. Now we’re fricked because Hawkins isn’t coming here any longer and White couldn’t get past our original passing on him per several folks in his family. shite happens but this one definitely isn’t mental gymnastics.

Sounds like y’all might go after a Bryan Harsin picked QB, Posse, that Hugh Freeze told to kick rocks.

That’s what I’m hearing too. Honestly, I imagine we get our future QB from the portal most years going forward as opposed to developing someone from freshman year up again.

He’s not a guy you want. My posts on him are well documented. Skipping from school to school and didn’t even start this past season. I’m shocked he’s getting the hype he is, outside of his “measurables.”

Screams bust.

Sounds like both of our fanbases are saying the same thing lol.

The portal definitely makes recruiting high school QBs not as dire as it used to be at least.

Perfect example of mental gymnastics. It is not Briles or any assistants fault. It's your HC. He clearly doesn't understand winning PR is on par with winning on the field. I'm not trolling. I watched it play out under Harsin. Good luck.

Winning PR is just not on par with winning on the field… it’s not even close.

It does fall on the HC in that he needs to be making the ultimate decision on personnel/roster/targets. Delegating that to an assistant will get you fricked. If Pittman was more involved, things might be different.

Yeah Posse will end up a mid 3 star guy, wouldn’t be surprised to see him end up at a school like USF or Georgia Tech.

I don’t think you actually understand the meaning of mental gymnastics. The truth isn’t mental gymnastics no matter how much you want to believe it was.

Baw, don’t let all of this talk deflect away from the fact that we got a new head man in Denver. And it’s a great hire.

Admittedly I wanted Lane and publicly shat on Freeze. I’m eating a rhino sized crow for dinner.

Walker loves Lane, probably would've worked out there. Walker was expected to commit to Ole Miss for a long time but we took Demond Williams instead. Walker is a great prospect and Auburn should be excited.

Agree with that for the most part but for a guy like Pittman I'd want him to be super involved with OL and DL but can understand him not wanting to meddle with QB too much. Just not his background. The CEO style coach is able to attract better assistants by giving them more leeway as well.
