Odd choice. Seems out of the blue.

Alabama legacy at an Alabama pipeline high school. But Alabama didn’t seem to recruit him very hard. Seemed like he would head to auburn for a while now.

Capstone, what? Auburn hasn't recruited or even been in contact with this young man since Lindsey left.

Mullen was high on him but we haven’t recruited him since he left. Kid has a lot of talent but is very raw with his passing. Could be well developed in the right situation. Not sure why auburn stopped recruiting him unless it was depth chart related.

He's clearly a great athlete and it will be interesting to see where he lands. He reminds me a lot of Bubba Thompson, another QB/baseball player who attended McGill-Toolen in Mobile, who was also a great athlete. Of course, he got drafted in the first round and took the money. Bubba was committed to Alabama, but most knew he would never step foot on their campus as a student-athlete. I can see that exact same thing happening to Ashford.

He has a 4 star WR buddy that wants to play with him. If his friend comes to OM I don't see him jumping to MLB. In all fairness I'm not sure what kind of baseball prospect Ashford is.

Nice pickup. Ole Miss going hard in the paint for kids that play FB and Baseball.

Was ranked 175 a year ago. Down to 231. Wonder how much further he is going to fall?

Well that makes sense seeing as though a year ago a large portion of this class wasn't even ranked?

Just Kidding. Good Pickup!

I never felt he would ever go to Bama or AU. Didn't seem to be highly recruited by them (especially Alabama).

RR's number one target since he got to Ole Miss. Strong arm on short and intermediate passes and has nice touch on his deep throws. Very athletic. Impressive film.

This was a guy many (not all) Georgia fans thought might be our QB in this class.

I'm happy he found a home.

Was hoping he would come to AU for baseball, seems his football stock has been falling for a while now.

Going to be very interesting to see how he does without Pickins this year. Heard from some people around Hoover that he benefited a lot from a 5* receiver. Would explain why his stock has dropped a bit from poor camp performances. But hes at the Elite 11 and has a full year to recover.

Where have you read about poor camp performances?

Was ranked in the 130s. Dropped almost 100 spots. He will end up a 3 star

Every camp he’s attended has said very poor accuracy. And reading defenses.
