Now THIS is being salty.
ESPN has him listed as a 315lb 4*, Rivals has him listed as a 347lb 3*, Composite got him as a 348lb 3*. One is not like the others.

Bama reaching like this is a new thing.

George has an impressive offer list, so it's not like this is a complete reach

Yeah, you keep on doubting Saban and Bama’s recruiting . . .
I remember the questions on here about Josh Jacobs a few years ago.

Every report of George this spring and summer has been of him looking bad and struggling. Look at his ranking history alone, he's plummeted.
The only reason you're going after him is to secure Evans, George is a throwaway recruit for Bama.
And please dont act like you have some sort of huge success rate with 3-stars, you dont

Where are the badass 3 star OT's on this list?

Besides the fact you had to dig back about 10 years to find most of those players, had to dig to put qualifers on (Well he was a 3-star here) and even listed out several mediocre players, here's what I'm talking about.
Let's start with 2016 247 composite and work our way back since they have at least been 3 seasons in at this point. We'll look at non specialists 3 star players or below that went to Bama, ALL of them for the last several years.
2016
WR T.J. Simmons - Transferred out
TE Miller Forristall - 6 catches in 3 seasons
RB Josh Jacobs - Big hit, drafted 1st round
DE Jamar King - 6 tackles in 3 seasons
TE Irv Smith Jr - big hit, drafted 2nd round
CB Aaron Robinson - Transferred out
LB Shawn Jennings - Transferred out
LB Joe Donald - No stats in 3 seasons
- 2 out of 8 players turned into anything -
2015
DE Christian Bell - Transferred out
DT Jonathan Taylor - Transferred out
S Keaton Anderson - 21 tackles in 4 years (assuming special teamer)
OT Matt Womack - Starter 1 season in 4 years
- 1 out 4 players turned into anything -
2014
DE O.J. Smith - Transferred out
TE Ty Flournoy-Smith - 5 catches in 2 seasons
- 0 out of 2 players turned into anything -
2013
WR Raheem Falkins - Transferred out
CB/S Eddie Jackson - Good player, 4th round pick
OC Bradley Bozeman - 2 year starter, 6th round pick
CB Jonathan Cook - Transferred out
OT Brandon Hill - Transferred out
ILB Walker Jones - 1 tackle in career
QB Parker McLeod - Transferred out
- 2 out of 7 players turned into anything -
2012
DE Dakota Ball - 13 tackles in 4 seasons
CB Deion Belue - 2 year starter at CB, undrafted though
TE Kurt Freitag - Kicked off/transferred
QB Alec Morris - Transferred out
DT Darren Lake - career backup
OT Caleb Gulledge - Transferred out
- 1 out of 6 players turned into anything -
So over that most recent 5 year span, 6 out of 27 3 stars or below, who WEREN'T specialists, turned into anything at Bama. So again, my point stands, Saban isn't some kind of 3-star recruiting savant. Roughly 20% of the 3 stars really do anything at Bama most recently. It's not really different at a lot of other big power 5 recruiting prowess schools either.
The point here is some ridiculous notion Saban has a great eye for the "lesser" (3-star) players than others, it's false. He very very much gets by on all the highly talented guys, not hitting on any sort of high rate on 3-stars.

They will take away George's offer on signing day and make him grey shirt. Shady business to lure in his teammate. Bama wouldn't take a 3* in any other instance
Posted on 6/7/19 at 10:27 am to Crimson Wraith
George is a 3 star. Why do you have to lie and say he's a 4 star when hes clearly not? I'm not big on star rankings anyway, bc if the guy can play, he can play.

Just watch the kid's tape. He's not a Bama OT. This is obviously a play for Evans, but my money is on OSU or UGA.

Alabama has a decent track record with three stars on the OL. But I think George is still a guard.

You mean half of our classes don’t contribute? Shocking. Why don’t you do everybody’s classes. You said Bama hasn’t had success with 3 stars. He proved you wrong. Way to move the goalposts though.
Eta sorry you said Bama hasn’t had huge success rates with 3* lol. Who has? It doesn’t change the fact Bama has had successes with them.
While we’re at it why don’t you list the “package deals” Saban has signed to get the higher rated recruit, since he just throws away scholarships to get the better player.

The guy literally said. "please dont act like you have some sort of huge success rate with 3-stars, you dont."
So we'll stick with the words "huge success".
Mark ingram 3 star on scout heisman winning running back.
Greg mcelroy consensus 3 star national championship winning QB.
Jake coker consensus 3 star national championship winning grad transfer QB.
Terrence cody consensus 3 star who blocks two back to back field goals to save Alabama's championship season.
Javier arenas consensus 3 star who picks off tim tebow to secure the SEC title.
Josh jacobs consensus 3 star running back taken in the 1st round of the 2019 draft.
John parker wilson consensus 3 star quarterback who breaks auburns 6 game winning streak to the tune of 36 to 0.
If these aren't "huge successes", then what are they?
That guy's a dick.
