I've changed my mind. I think it's A&M. But maybe it's wishful thinking on my part. Regardless, here are the reasons:
Insiders on TexAgs, who are usually pretty guarded and conservative in their predictions, have been high on A&M's chances with Jackson for a good long time, even to the point of getting mocked by other Ags. Further, a poster on a longhorn site posted a claim that he set on a plane right beside a high ranking DL recruit who was being pursued by Alabama and LSU, and the recruit (whom he did not name) told the poster that he was going to A&M. (At least, according to this random longhorn poster on a longhorn site.) Further, A&M insiders have remained pretty confident about Jackson even when none of the national guys thought he was going to A&M. If Jackson knew a year ago where he was going (as he says he did), and he set up his last visit for A&M, then it seems a good bet that he was decided on A&M when he set up the visits. I know none of that is compelling. And some if it would be very weak if it were taken in isolation. But, taken in total, that's a fair bit of smoke.
We'll see. But I think he's signing with A&M tomorrow. Like I said, maybe it's wishful thinking on my part.

If Jackson has known for a year where he is going, then it's Bama.

He took an unofficial to Bama out of his own pocket . Why waste his time and money? In addition every bama mod is really confident and they should be . Sorry but I only see roll tide here .

I'm not flaming you because we have all been there , but you are describing the classic signing day troll scenario.

I have no idea. I think his interest in A&M is real, but Saban usually wins these ... at least we only have to wait one more day to see the result

If it is true that he has known where he wants to go for a year, then he was just taking visits to enjoy the process - and none of the visits change the decision.

Maybe so. I hope we get him. He's a great talent. Hard to beat Bama for a kid like that, from close by, when they push for him for as hard as they can push. So probably I'm just guilty of wishful thinking here.

And if he’s just enjoying the process then why get a school’s hopes up? And why just one. The only thing that makes me second guess it is the phrase “business decision”. Saban says it. His recruits say it. Only way it’s not Bama would be a truly epic troll on Coach O’s part. Remember Arik Gilbert? Bama was pretty confident. He was ours a month before that and nobody on our sites knew. Coach O just told him to lead Bama on. Same thing here just played out over a much longer time frame.
Eta. Example of the sabanism “business decision”. “I try to get guys to make business decisions about what they’re going to do," Nick Saban said during his first bowl press conference Monday afternoon. "

Sure, but it’s not the kid’s job to manage the school’s expectations...

Here's another weird thing: he supposedly told both coaching staffs where he is going, but we're not hearing insiders from either side walking back their confidence yet. I don't get it.

I hear ya. That is strange. Would be a nice get, but nothing would surprise at this point.

I’m no longer optimistic. This has Bama written all over it. Crystal Balls going there way, the BOL has started celebrating, even though nothing has been explicitly said, it looks like its for sure Bama. The good news is either Bama fan or Aggie will be upset by the choice. I’d rather see both of them pissed off, but at least Aggie feels a let down.

This is no longer a thing. Schools just funnel the money to the family for these trips. It's not as big a deal as it used to be.

Been nice discussing a topic without trolling every post . Good luck to all and wherever he goes is getting an excellent player

Congrats Bama. Looks like a done deal. Tim Watts with the CB.
Can't wait to hear who finished second.
