LSU making a strong push, but pulling kids out of Mississippi is hard when it comes down to the wire and the bags come out.

Supposedly, he's liked A&M quite a bit for a long time. I wouldn't say there is a strong confidence though.

Gotta think Ole Miss is gonna sell out for him to have a crown jewel kn their class.

I know LSU wants him bad.

There is confidence, but it’s restrained confidence. The Evans stuff makes things harder. We can’t tell Evans no, and Shepherd wants to transfer in, too. We really need OTs and RBs, but Jackson is almost certainly the surest bet of the three recruits. But we only have room for two. So it’s a tough spot. Personally, I’d make somebody wait on Jackson. I think the dude is awesome.

How would Shephard count against the class if he's a transfer? It's not like he's a 2020 signee. He signed with t.u. in 2019.

Also, can't you back count up to 2 towards the previous class if they enroll early as of 2018?

2016 - 20 signed, 3 enrolled early (17 in 2016 class)
2017 - 28 signed, 9 enrolled early (20 in 2017 class, 25 in 2016 class)
2018 - 23 signed, 2 enrolled early (22 in 2018 class, 21 in 2017 class)
2019 - 27 signed, 7 enrolled early, 1 signed in 2020 (25 in 2019 class, 25 in 2018 class)
2020 - 22 signed, 12 enrolling early (22 in 2020 class, 25 in 2019 class)

By that math, we have room for 3.

New rule. Transfers now count against the 25 cap. You can still get more in, but only if you have some to enroll early AND you have room from the last class to count them back.

How would he not count in this class? You still have to use a scholarship on him

The perfect scenario is if we convinced Shep to go JUCO for a year. He’d have to sit anyway.

A&M feels very confident on Jackson, and has his last visit. However, the Evans stuff throws a wrench in everything at this point

12 of the 22 we just signed are enrolling early. We have 24 counting against 2019 including Mowry so we can count one back, but that means we can't count any back from 2021.

I’m not sure, but I don’t think that’s true. I don’t think we can count any back.

2017 - 28 signed, 9 enrolled early (8 back counted to 2016 class)

RULE CHANGE LIMITING BACK-COUNTING TO 2

2018 - 23 signed, 2 enrolled early (2 back counted to 2017 class)

2019 - 26 signed, 7 enrolled early (2 back counted to 2018 class)

2020 - 23 signed, 12 enrolled early, 1 signee from 2019 class (1 back counted to 2019 class)

That leaves 3 available if Phillips never signs, 2 if he does. (Unless the Richardson transfer counted against the 2018 class, then we only have 2 available unless transfers skirt the 2 back count limit)

Under the old rules, we would have been able to count an additional 2 back to the 2019 class.

I know Auburn wants him and I think we are trying to make a push.

I am hearing that we have had a spot open up for us, though. Something about a signee that won't end up at Georgia, or something like that.
