Kid is going to be excellent his Jr and Sr years and a rare Grayson commit for us.

I could have sworn Grayson off limits to Georgia when those 3(4?) went OOS in the 2019 class. Maybe they were just a weird group idk

Kenyatta Watson has a lot to do with that while his son was at Grayson. Convoyed kids everywhere but Athens, basically neutering our proximity advantage with the guys we wanted. We had gotten in early with Gibbs before he transferred to Grayson and had his cousin on campus when we got him but I think that’s our last notable recruit from either Grayson or Archer.

For 2019, we passed on Pappoe for Nakobe Dean (not a knock on Pappoe) and Morris I think we didn’t pursue heavily simply because of our numbers at OL (2019 we took Warren McLendon at OT early and Clay Webb at C in the Fall and IIRC grabbed Xavier Truss late as a project who might pay off this year as our starting RT).

I don’t think we ever seriously went after Trente Jones, Kevin Harris, or Watson.

Ah, well c’est la vie. The curse of Mickey Conn and the Nkemdiche bros lives on in southeast Gwinnett

I don’t believe saying UGA passed on Pappoe is accurate. UGA would have taken Pappoe’s commitment.

Let me rephrase: we put more effort into recruiting Nakobe Dean than Pappoe. You’re right, if Owen said I want to commit to UGA we wouldn’t say no thanks but we didn’t chase him the way we chased Dean, either. Part of that was the Grayson/Watson factor which made recruiting those kids more difficult than it probably should have been

Pretty sure UGA had Pappoe and Dean at the top of their list. Getting Dean definitely took the sting out of losing Pappoe though.

Why do you keep coming into UGA threads and just vomiting all over them?

Why do you care? I’m not the one saying Pappoe wasn’t a high priority

And it’s funny as UGA fans are the biggest trolls on this board. I’m just having fun with them.

Because it's annoying.

Have you not seen LSU fans in practically every thread on here?

I hear ya and I usually agree with most of your posts but the last few UGA threads on here you've seem to just talk shite.

I mean obviously this isn’t but the last few threads I’ve talked shite in have been djdawg threads. You know, a troll. Funny you don’t have a problem with his posts though.

Trust me. He’s not a troll. That’s just him

And he started the other thread with good intentions until the UT fan derailed it.

Back to the MGK commitment and the trend at UGA with recruiting the secondary.

It seems Kirbster is stepping up his game here the last few years with the likes of Tyson Campbell, Lewis Cine and now Kelee Ringo. UGA is thought to be the solid leader with James Williams as top 10 player in 2021 and at least 50/50 with top corner in Tony Grimes. IF (and I know that is a loaded word) the Dawgs secure those two - then UGA will have ascended to LSU and Ohio State territory on recruiting the secondary. #ugathenew #dbu

Kid is huge for a DB. Id be tempted to put his arse at Wide Receiver. A top 10 player that is 6'5. WANT
