For the second time in the last three recruiting cycles, Alabama is back at Buford (Ga.) High School, this time landing Jake Pope, one of the top defensive backs in the Southeast. Pope chose the Crimson Tide over Georgia, North Carolina, Notre Dame, and Ohio State.

Nice grab. His offer list is way above his ranking. If you live in Georgia you can watch him play on GPB TV a few times this year. I think the first time is this Friday.

What do you think a proper ranking would be?

He's definitely not a 3 star player. I have seen a couple of his games and he doesn't always jump off the screen like a player committed to Bama but he's not a 3 star for sure.

One more to count to the 30 or more Bama gets per year. 25 is only for the other members of the SEC.

He has 50+ offers. That tells you pretty much all you need to know.

frick off and stay away from our long snapper pipeline school.

Reid Ferguson

Blake Ferguson

Quentin Skinner

Our last 3 long snappers dating back to 2012 have come from Buford HS. You can have all of the LA players you want but don't you DARE take our long snapping pipeline.

That's actually quite impressive.

yeah it's gotta be one of the more random, improbable things I've seen in sports. What are the odds a random high school in Georgia produced 3 consecutive long snappers that went to LSU.

We should probably hire their coach as a analyst or something.

That’s wild. It would still be crazy if it was an instate school but the fact it’s out of state is crazier
