I like the kid, but no way is he going to go backup Walker Howard at LSU. He understandably didn't want to it in high school, and he won't do it in college. A&M seems like a good fit for him.

Yeah the Kyle Trask path to a QB career is very unusual. Not much live tape, not much publicity.
If he is the guy Jimbo wants to target, that is okay.

Yeah well aggies have their own 5* QB committed in the '22 class.

When you roll the timeline back to when Walker Howard was just through his freshman year at STM and Eli was an incoming freshman summer of 2019 - Walker got offers from LSU, A&M and Bama in June of 2019. The following month people started talking about Eli moving schools to Zachary, even though his brother stayed at STM in 2019-20 to finish up there. Once Walker was blowing up they knew Eli wouldn't play until his senior year at STM at that point with Walker a class ahead of him.
Honestly a really smart move, Eli is a really talented kid and playing as a sophomore this past season has really put him on the map earlier. Our previous staff did offer him before his sophomore year but I believe us and Kentucky were the only ones who did before he played at Zachary. He picked up all the other offers this year from A&M, Auburn, UGA, OSU, Bama, etc...
