I figured we'd push for another 4* type guy then take Davis if we couldn't get Him or Foster.

Yea, I haven't really seen much film on him. From what I have seen, he looks like a good coverage linebacker.

I'll just be glad when Bates is gone and we have a legit linebacking corps w/ some depth

Bates will be our be LBer next year. Had what should have been a sack/fumble against Frazier.

Plus even when Bates leaves we will still have the The White Suck Jake Holland.

A good coverage linebacker? He's a 6'3'' 227lb run stopper.

He would have been a SAM LB in Alabama's scheme. With him being a early favorite to sign with Alabama, most people noted his "coverage skills". That's what the SAM does in our 3-4. I guess that's where the notes on his skills came from. Just a thought.

I'm just going on the 12 or so games I've watched him in person play along with what our coaches want and have told him. Maybe I'm wrong.

Rig he is a very athletic filled out 227, good at tackling, but also a VERY solid cover on 3rd, can man up TEs, RBs

I have to agree with Capstone here. I saw a really good coverage LB.

yup think 1 of our star LBs known for great cover skills CJ Mosley, a lot more of that, again he is a GREAT tackler, but that is different than being JUST a run stuffer, he is more complete than that, calling him "run stuffer" is selling him short, he is a more complete LB

Is Brannigan really any worse than you are/were, re: Neiko Thorpe?

As much as TT can go overboard at times, I don't think you can really blame him with Thorpe. I don't think that there have many players that have drawn as much ire from fans as him.

Brannigan is on another level. Which is weird because when I saw him post on the Ringer all he did was flame other teams fans and get in arguments with them. Here all he does is troll and flame his own teams fans.

TT should have his ability to request reinstatement for posters removed just based on Brannigan alone.

Long day, guys. I talked to Davis. I hadn't previously met him but after talking to him I was pretty impressed. He knows defense well and was able to explain the simple sets BVG ran out there today. He's 6'2 on the dot I'd day, told me he's up near 220 "on a good day".

Anyways, it was a good day on the plains. We made moves for guys that won't show up on the commitment list until it's cold outside again.
