yesterday from opelika...he is in the middle of everything that has to do with high school sports in lee county, whether it be any opelika sports or number of youth sports...when i heard about the reuben foster deal i had to call him and get the scoop...here's the summary of the conversations...(mind you this guy is a huge bammer homer)
basically foster was set to enroll at opelika...he had met with the coaches, teachers, principal everything was set up for him to graduate in january...saban and everyone was ok with it as long as he was in opelika...yesterday shocked everyone in opelika...i mean completely shocked...it was a done deal and somehow auburn got in on him and convinced him to come...he said something to the tune of "i don't know how his mom is gonna get a job and afford to live over in auburn, something's fishy over there with trooper and luper's kids being there" to which my reply was "what was going to be different if he went to opelika? she was still gonna need a job and they were still gonna need a place to live, why is it fishy one place and not the other?"...this guy hates everything that is auburn...from what i gathered, people in opelika/tuscaloosa are NOT happy about this...as big of a homer as this guy is for bammer i would have fully expected to try to explain it in a good slanted way towards bama (possibly bring up lamichael fanning) and not put the kid down even if he did go to opelika's arch rival because he wouldn't rag on a kid that he knew was going to bama (btw he told me about tj yeldon switching in late september)...he did the exact opposite, he kept calling it dirty and things like that which made no sense...that leads me to believe that he doesn't feel so confident about foster signing with bama and what do bama fans do when they lose a recruit? they cry cheating or make up some excuse...the excuses have already started for this one...he may sign with bama but there are some nervous folks right now...anyways i'll be getting into auburn early enough to go watch ahs play this year...cam and blaise on one side and foster on the other is gonna be fun to watch

Yea, I'm still very skeptical that he switches, but to insinuate something dirty is going one because a guy decided to switch from Opelika HS to Auburn HS is hilarious.

she can still work in opelika and live in Auburn.... it's not like the cost of living in auburn is THAT much better than opelika.
plus, the school system is better... and right now (never thought i'd see the day) the football team is better...
