So this is kinda cool. Rivals eligibility tracker.

LINK

Looks like we'll have 81 total scholarship players, unless they decide to give some to walkons, but they'll have to keep spots open for kids that want to enroll early.

13 seniors, 16 juniors, 22 sophomores, 10 redshirt freshmen and 20 freshmen.

Players of note - Shon Coleman Melvin Ray are RFr this year.

Just doing some quick math...

We'll have room for 17 recruits in the 2013 class before any other attrition. Not bad.

Maybe I misread this, but wouldn't SRs in 2012 have effect on your 2013 class? Your 2012 JRs - 2013 SRs - will impact your 2014 class.

Coincidentally, we also have 17 commitments. This also helps explain why we did not sign more than 21 Freshman (the 20 listed, plus Twitter Cam)even though we had room for 2 more (81, plus Twitter Cam and Rose).

We didn't sign more than 21 last year because we missed on several guys. We will also sign more than 17 this class. I expect to see some more processing going on in the next year.

I always like to look at this.

Scholarships by State:

Alabama - 41%
Georgia - 17%
Florida - 16%
Louisiana - 6%
Others - 20%

The staff has done a good job of recruiting Florida.

Agree. But they have done a poor job in the state of Mississippi.

Maybe I missing something... but...

Blake Burgess is a walk-on.
Justin Garrett hasn't used his RS (he was apart of the 2011 class). Played as a TF last year.

I assume once Chiz awards you one, you keep it each year. Could be wrong though.

that ain't on accident.....we really don't try to establish too much of a presence in Mississippi and for good reason. I'd prefer we stick to AL, GA and FL.

Ah, that would explain it.

I missed that he received a scholarship last year.

of doing what, exactly?... we hold our own there, but there are several SEC schools who are much closer to MS than we are -- LSU, Bama, Ole Miss, MSU...

four SEC schools fighting over how many 'elite' prospects a year -- 4?

And then check out the folks from the "Other" category. Its a pretty solid list of either current producers or promising prospects:

Kiehl Frazier
Christian Westerman
Alex Kozan
Shane Callahan
Angelo Blackson
Jordan Diamond
Steven Clark
Jermaine Whitehead
Shon Coleman
Kris Frost
Eric Mack
Gimel President
Daren Bates
Jovon Robinson
Emory Blake
Nosa Eguae

The staff seems to go big if they're gonna go outside their home turf.

Good point. We're pretty balanced age-wise now just looking at the roster.

Some units may be a little younger than others though. OL for example has 1 Sr and 1 Jr.
