After personal interactions with him, hearing things from players I know as well as his well noted problems in high school, the kid sucks in the head. I have never disagreed with his physical ability that is top notch Tebowesque. But there is a difference between Tebow and Pike, Tebow worked hard as hell and I see/hear of Pike at the bar more than a frat boy and it is always negative in nature. Hard to believe that is going to translate to ridiculous work ethic.
There's another difference between Tebow and Pike: Pike will almost certainly not see significant game time for his first two years on campus because of a guy named Kiehl Frazier, not to mention Clint Moseley (who will still be ahead of Pike either way for the next two years). It is quite possible that he'll be humbled enough by then that he focuses his energies better and uses his time to learn from one of the best QB coaches in the business.

Playing QB for ONLY two years can have that effect.
Didn't a prominent QB coach quote Pike as a player that is easy to teach and learns quick?
THe guy got paid by Pike's dad to train him. What do you expect him to say?

That is Whitfield's career in coaching kids. He doesn't want to lose credibility by just throwing out superlatives because the kids dad is paying him. He would lose respect quickly throughout the football world.
BTW: I am not sticking up for Zeke, because he has a lot to prove. I am skeptical of his behavior, and whether he get's his head screwed on straight. I was mainly commenting on George Whitfield and his standing as a QB guru. His need to be honest in his evaluations to maintain his credentials.

The article I quoted was from the Elite 11 camp.
Do some research before talking.

It was obvious sarcasm. You believe the guy wasn't worth a scholarship, and you mock anyone who thinks it was worth taking him for his upside (which would include the coaches).

You are a moron
Calm down, dude. No one's getting in an e-fight here.

My point was simply that you probably have something personal against Pike that is making you a little more venomous towards him than he probably deserves. You only have 50-something posts, and over a dozen of them are bashing Pike.

6- zeke Pike
Can we process this punk now? I would rather see Clint moseley or Barrett trotter on the field for the next few years then see him even dress up. Heard Patrick Miller wanted to kick his arse the other week over some shenanigans he tried to pull with a girl
quote:
Nah. Just don't know what it is about Zeke. It could be throwing more INTs than TDs in HS let alone Kentucky HS football or the creepy texts he sends my friend who is a girl which we found out one night he mass texts to all girls. The kid just sucks
Oh he also introduced Arik Armstead as an OT which he clearly isn't going to play by his demand We should trade him for a cruder player with a chest tattoo or something
quote:(referring to our coaches taking Pike)
I am not sure if they were trying to keep their word to a commit to honor his scholarship or they like him, but either way our coached fricked the duck on this one
Started the following thread:

Players you wish your team would process
I am going to start of with Zeke Pike for Auburn
quote:
I've watched girls in powderpuff football games that show more promise than Pike. Really doesn't say much
quote:What's wrong with Leff, btw.
As long as one of our early commits is not a Zeke Pike type player/personality, I will be happy. I don't care if their talent level is on par with Robert Leff

quote:Oh, thanks for clearing that up. So, you know him and love him, but make fun of his talent because he's a lowly 3-star. K
I love leff. Have mutual family friends and is a great kid, just don't expect him to start. Pike on the other hand can blow a thai prostitute. Met the kid and he sucks.
quote:
Other way around moron. My girlfriend had me tell him to back off after he was creeping her and her friends out.
quote:
This is a joke he was trying to introduce Arik Armstead as an OT which he was getting pissed about during his OV. He tried to be a recruiter
quote:
How does a kid who throws more INT THAN TDS in kentucky high school football get hype? Its a joke
quote:
Everythng I have heard from Tiger Hosts to girls I know has been awful about him. Heard his teammates don't even put up with his shenanigans. He is an absolute tool and it is hard to believe he didn't deserve any of his ,multiple suspensions and ejections. Those people don't work hard in the weight room or in practice typically.
quote:
Also a lot of the fan base is excited thinking he could be the next tebow. Had to sit my girlfriends little 10 year old brother and explain to him Pike sucks. Also, if someone basically revamps his entire throwing motion and mechanics and convinces him to stop being a little prick, he has considerable upside. I just don't see it happening when he spends more time at the bars downtown underage than in class/weight room
If your gf hates him so much, why would her brother think he's the greatest? It sounds to me like something happened between Zeke and your gf. Maybe she had a crush on him, but he went after some other girl? Or maybe he hit it and quit it. Whatever it is, you are definitely mad.

I don't know what the problem is, but it's obviously personal, and he's obviously mad.

Is Pike the QB version of Tyler Love?? BTW I saw Wallace play a few times this yr in person at Central, surprised he was rated as low as he is, gonna be better than most think just needs to learn not to tuck and run as much, kinda runs too much even though he has a great arm, but that can be fixed

Fellas, this shite has gotten real stupid and off the subject....
Zeke Pike is NOT a recruit anymore, he's now an AU player...
Can we all please get off his d*** now and move on??

Yeah... dudes got a post count of 50... it's not like you're combing through 10,000 posts.
He's probably wasted more time b*tching about Zeke Pike on this (and probably other) boards than most.

Nahh, Love was a 5* coming out of HS. I think Pike ended up as a 3* on all of the recruiting sites.

AU has offered 2014 OT Andy Bauer from St. Louis, Missouri. Rivals list him as 6'5 291lbs.
I like how we are making early offers now. Gives the coaches longer time to build relationships.
