According to Mike Farrell, Christian Hackenberg (#3 Pro-Style QB committed to Penn St) will talk to Coach O'Brian regarding the upcoming sanctions. If he decommits, he will call USCe and Auburn first. If we could snag him, I'd feel alot better about our QB situation. Kid is a stud

@J_Decker84: Whoa. RT @rivalsmike Just spoke to Hackenberg, told me he wants to play in a bowl game. Would call South Carolina 1st & AU next if needed.

Yes, would love to hear Hackenberg over the speakers one day.

I don't like the way that is worded. South Carolina would be retarded to pass on him, which makes me think that call to Auburn is never made. Unless by "if needed," he means IF he decommits and not IF South Carolina passes on him. Sounds kind of ambiguous.

FWIW, it'd be fun just to see TideSaint's head explode.

With our current QB situation, adding an elite prospect like Hackenberg would be awesome. I think Frazier will be pretty good, but besides him I'm just not sure. Moseley isn't going to do anything, Pike keeps getting in trouble, I'm not sure Wallace will be anything more than depth, JJ can be good but will need some time, and Smith won't stay at QB.

If we somehow got Hackenberg I would do backflips

I was thinking the "if needed" meant him calling USC and Auburn due to the decommitment. I'd love to have him, but what would we do with Jeremy Johnson, and how would that affect the remaining spots in this class?

That's how I read it. But it is a bit ambiguous

If the sanctions are half as bad as they are supposed to be then he will be making those calls. Maybe Spurrier's line will be busy with Garcia begging for another chance when he calls.

The NCAA really only has four arrows in their quiver.

1. Vacated wins. They act like this is punitive, but nobody gives a shite.

2. Bowl bans. Big deal, especially if for more than 2 years.

3. Scholarship reductions. Big deal.

4. Death penalty. Huge.

They will not put someone on a TV ban. If, as leaked, the sanctions are not the death penalty, but also more crippling than the death penalty, it has to be a combination of 2 and 3 (possibly 1 but, again, no gives a shite).

I agree that he'll be making those phone calls.

Definitely hope we land him. NCAA will come down hard on PSU.

Hackenbergs have a long relationship with Spurrier. I am curious how Spurrier will approach this. C Mitch stated he would only commit to a school that was bringing in 1 QB.

TideSaint was banned for "spamming." Whatever the frick that means. I have personal information that he would throw a baby through a car windshield if Hackenberg signed with AU though.

TTs knows what I'm talking about.

Didn't know that. Hopefully Spurrier stays loyal to his QB, cuz I want Hackenberg.

Whoever the source sited is I don't know, but they said with the penalties coming their way. The school would have wished for the death penalty. Tifwiw
