Yeah Steele's previews suck. Every position breakdown has 6 or 7 sentences about 2010 and 2011, and the last sentence is about the upcoming season. And his predictions are getting worse and worse (he had AU dead last in 2011)

So glad he's AU's issue now.
The last RB issue AU had, helped us get this:

Forget the prediction. That was terrible writing and painful to read.

His position by position breakdown was actually pretty spot on, and he did say that he expects us to be better than last year, but our record might not indicate that. This makes sense to me. South Carolina and Florida played terribly against us last year, and we barely squeaked by Mississippi State and Utah State.

With Mason getting the most carries, does his spot as KR get taken by someone like Therezie or Grant?
My first year at AU (1980), James Brooks carried the load, returned punts, *and* returned kicks.
And did them all pretty damned well.
And he was a "small" back.
It can be done.

It's risky though. I think we can take that chance though with Grant and Blakely behind him.

I have very high hopes for Delaine and Herrell. I remember hearing that Delaine was one of Rocker's overall favorites(in the country) in his class. If he can stay healthy, he is going to be a beast.

not only that, but he has almost every unit improving from 2011... and thinks we'll have one of the most improved DL and DB units in the country.... he also says we'll be better at QB, OL, and Special Teams.
I'm not sure what some people are expecting from Steele(or any other preview), but that's probably as optimistic/fair a shake as we're gonna get from the summer preview mags.

I didn't like the format of his writing. Was difficult reading for me. I have no grand illusions about being first, but I do expect better then 8 wins + Bowl which if I read it correctly differs with his prediction.

Right or wrong, that is just a clusterfrick of words and babbling about 2 or 3 years of Auburn football. He could do well trying to break it apart in a different way.

Agreed, but that's how he's always done his guide, and it does cram a ton of useful information in it.
