As far as I know, he has no intentions of staying in-state. So that bodes well for everyone OOS that's after him. Clemson coaches recruit Jacksonville very well, and that's where he's at now. Plus, he has come out and said he wants to play OOS.

Hmm, should Florida be worried?

6A(I think), stout build, and doesn't seem to lose much speed on his cuts(he did have cleats/field in the clips I saw though).

Not too worried. We'll take two big time RBs and one change of pace guy IMO.

PT is all over the place at UF obviously and close to home for Lane.

Taylor should be a Gator sooner than later.

I will be sick if such a great legacy is a Gump.

I'm not worried about Lane. I think he sticks, but it's recruiting and I've seen crazy things happen.

Jon McCrary laying it down:

quote:

"If there is a coach who is just recruiting me, then I'm definitely going to their school," McCrary said. "I'm going to do that rather than going to some other school that is try to recruit three quarterbacks in my class. There is no point in going there."

"When I'm sacrificing four years, you have to sacrifice too," McCrary said. "That has to be your promises. If you say you a recruit is going to play his freshman or sophomore year, you have to keep those promises."

Bama offered Fort Wayne (Ind.) Bishop Luers five-star OLB Jaylon Smith

LOVE his film - LINK

quote:

“I knew they were interested but I didn’t know they were going to offer because of the depth they have,” Smith said. “They just signed three outside linebackers for the class of 2012, so I didn’t know if they were going to look for an outside linebacker in my class. It’s just an honor to get this offer.”

quote:

“Just the history there,” Smith stated. “The statistics. Within the last four years, that’s really been the place to be. That’s where a lot of the top recruits are going, and they’ll definitely be on my list.”

quote:

“He was telling me how he watched my film a few times and he enjoyed it,” Smith recapped. “He asked what position I would prefer to play, and he said his vision of where I’d play if I were to go there. He talked about some of the schemes they run with their defense, and we talked about me playing the SAM in the 3-4, more of a coverage type linebacker. I don’t mind that and I don’t mind rushing either. I like that and enjoy that. I just want to play.”

(edited to add film)

Despite it being speculated, I'm not fully convinced Bama will take 2 QBs. Only 1 will give Bama 5, which enough to get by with. I guess it will depend on what Sims does, which I think he stays. Being the QB for 1 year on that projected 2014 team could be good enough to get drafted.

Bama has put themselves in a good situation this year with "high profile" QBs. I'm not all into the star rankings, but the caliber of the player is obvious 90% of the time.

Browne
Swoopes(least likely, but interested)
Hackenburg
McCrary
Ferguson

I'd be happy with any of them...

This. It would be awesome if we could get him, but Ohio State has his brother. I like this picture though:
